Social Enterprise Development Worker

Part Time – 17.5 hours

PAUL Partnership CLG is an organisation made up of communities, state agencies, social partners, voluntary groups and elected representatives. It works with communities that have benefited least from economic and social development and aims to promote social inclusion and improve the quality of life of people living in communities in Limerick City.

This position is funded under the Social Inclusion Community Activation Programme (SICAP) 2018 – 2022.

Reports to:Co-ordinator, Economic Programmes

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Work as part of the economic team, supporting the development of Social Enterprise
  2. Work with Local Community Groups and other relevant stakeholders in exploring the development potential for Social Enterprise within Limerick City.
  3. Promote a culture of Social Enterprise development and support the development of a forum for groups to share ideas and network.
  4. Work with Local Community Groups and individuals to develop new Social Enterprise ideas and prepare business plans.
  5. Support existing Social Enterprises to review and update their Social Enterprise business plans and explore potential to expand.
  6. Identify potential funding sources to support Social Enterprise Development in Limerick City
  7. Work with other enterprise staff in the organisation and co-ordination of events.
  8. Organise and deliver training as agreed.
  9. Disseminate information and advice re Social enterprise to the general public and community groups.
  10. Work with the Coordinator, Economic Programmes to inform a Social Enterprise Strategy for PAUL Partnership.
  11. Undertake relevant monitoring and reporting requirements.
  12. Execute any other tasks which may be assigned from time to time by the Co-ordinator, Economic Programmes.
  13. Maintain the confidentiality of company business.

Person Specification:

Essential / Desirable
Knowledge
  • Understanding of social inclusion issues
  • Understanding of Social Enterprise
  • A relevant 3rd level qualification
  • Knowledge of Good Governance for Communities and related Legislation
  • Knowledge of funding sources available to community groups

  • Experience of supporting business development, minimum of 3 years
  • Experience of working on multi-agency collaboration
  • Experience of Local Development Sector in Ireland
  • Experience of writing funding applications
