  24. Partnership for Success Grant Update: Mark your calendar for October PIP Meeting
  25. Plan was approved! We are moving forward with the following strategies: prescription drug take back events, social norming media campaigns, and peer education.
  26. If your strategy selection has changed since you talked to us, please let Chelsie know ().
  27. Gather the stakeholders on your campus and bring them to the meeting on October 4th.
  28. Meeting will give in depth information and direction on each strategy.
  29. Applications for each strategy will be developed soon and sent to you before the October meeting.
  30. Certified Peer Education Training
  31. BACCHUS and Joan can do the training on your campus!
  32. Begin thinking about if you’d like the training and potential dates for your campus.
  33. If you are using the peer education strategy, think about when you would like the Generation Rx program training (roughly 2 hours and could be done at the same time as CPE).
  34. Suicide Prevention Update
  35. Materials are in! Please take your school’s materials back with you.
  36. Heartland Summit registration- 2 scholarships per campus
  37. November 8th 8:00am-4:30pm @ UMKC
  38. Workshop to provide practical guidance and knowledge about preventing and responding to gender-based violence.

  41. Registration covered by PIP, but hotel and mileage will need to come out of your campus PIP funds
  42. Social Norms and Scare Tactics: new resource
  43. There have been issues with the development of social norms materials.
  44. Dan can answer questions about the development of an appropriate message.
  45. When deciding on images to be used, ask yourself if the image reinforces the misperception or challenges it.
  46. Scare tactics shown to be ineffective. New resource by Drug Free Action Alliance helps to explain the research behind this.

  50. Tutorial videos in the making to further explain topics such as strategic plans, MCHBS process, utilizing ALR, etc. These will be on the website.
  51. If you have a request for a tutorial, let PIP staff know!
  52. Look for frequently asked questions to be posted on the PIP website for specific programs and survey processes.

  56. If you want a school specific brief on any topic that we publish a statewide brief on, let us know.
  57. You may also request school specific briefs on a topic we haven’t previously written about statewide. These will take more time, so get your request in early!

  76. Begin your IRB approval process before winter break. You will need this before the spring semester.
  77. If you are doing the Veterans, get your documents to Evan ASAP. Survey will be implemented next month.

  79. Request sample from your registrar and send to Evan.
