Salary: £36,532 - £46,278 per annum depending on experience

Fixed-term 3 year full-time contract

A new exciting opportunity exists within the Clinical Group for a motivated individual to work on the TREAT-TB Research Programme. Working primarily with data generated through TREAT-TB and other sources, you will be expected to research the following areas: Health system requirement of new technologies, efficacy of new technologies and epidemiological effects of new technologies. Providing comprehensive information to policy makers you will play a key part in evidence based decision making, determining the appropriate most effective tools and approaches.

Applications are welcome from candidates who possess a first degree in Operations and Systems research with proven experience of health technology assessments and systems/ operations research, (simulation modelling or equivalent). An understanding and knowledge of stochastic processes, together with awareness of limitation and bottle necks within health systems (from lab diagnosis to treatment and cure) is essential.

With the ability to undertake and lead operations research, (including simulation modelling), you should have excellent communication and diplomacy skills and be able to deal with a variety of people from a multicultural background. Exceptional report writing skills are fundamental to this role together with the capability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines. Prior experience of working in developing countries and the ability to speak a second language (preferably French) would be an advantage.

This post is based in Liverpool but will involve overseas travel.
