Checklist:
Register to retake the ACT/SAT, if necessary, to increase scores for collegeadmissionsrequirements and scholarship consideration.
Schedule collegevisits for schools you are seriously considering.
Fill out college applications. Pay close attention to deadlines. Request that transcripts be sent to each college you applied to.
Schedule a “Senior Appointment”with your counselor and parents to discuss
graduation requirements, college choices, financial aid, workforce, military, and other future plans.
Dates, Deadlines, and Photo Requirements
ACT/SAT registration requires you to upload a digital photo of yourself, which will be printed on your admission ticket and score report. To obtain a high-quality photo that meets all specifications, login to Infinite Campus, right-click and save your student photofor uploading. Your registration will be cancelled if your photo is not uploaded by the deadline.

eTranscript Requests
Kentucky has selected Parchment, the leader in eTranscript exchange, to enable “Kentucky eTranscript,” the statewide electronic transcript initiative, with the goal of making the entire college admissions process easier and encouraging more students to pursue postsecondary education. Beginning this academic year, Kentucky public high school students can electronically send their transcripts to any Kentucky college. Senior students at WCHS will receive a registration email that will enable them to sign up for this process. Once students have registered, they can request that their transcript be sent to any Kentucky college.
Build a College List
BigFuture.org is a free comprehensive, interactive website by College Board that provides step-by-step college search instructions. It improves the college planning process by finding colleges that match yourunique needs and interests.
Steps:
- Visit BigFuture.org and click on “Find Colleges” > “Find Your College Fit”.
- Select “College Search Step-by-Step”.
- Read and select “Begin Exploring”.
- Answer questions. Click on arrow to move onto next question until all questions are answered (Kinds of Colleges, Location, Campus Setting, Cost, Majors, and Learning Environment).
- View “My College Snapshop”
- Click on colleges and read “At a Glance” details (Deadlines, Majors & Learning Environment, Campus Life, Applying, Paying)
- Click on “Academic Tracker” to see if you meetadmissions requirements.
- If interested, click “Add College to My List”. Share results with a family member or Guidance Counselor.

The best way to determine if a college is a good fit for you is to see it firsthand. Every campus is unique and has its own personality. College visits are excused absences, but you must provide the Attendance Office with official proof of your visit. Call or visit collegewebsites to arrange campus visits (reservations required) and get dates for special events i.e. Preview Days, Open Houses.

College Athletics
NCAA - Any athlete who wishes to play at a Division I or Division II college must register with the NCAA Clearinghouse at Your ACT/SAT scores must besent to the NCAA Initial Eligibility Clearinghouse.
NAIA - Any athlete who wishes to play at an NAIA college must register with the NAIA at Your ACT/SAT scores must sent to the NAIA Eligibility Center.
Military Academy Day
Congressman Andy Barr’s office will be hosting a Military Academy Day for Sixth District students interested in applying to one of the nation’s service academies. The event will be on Saturday, September 7, at the Aviation Museum of Kentucky (4029 Airport Road, Next to Blue Grass Airport) from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with registration beginning at 8:30 a.m. This event is free for students and parents interested in learning more about the academies, admission requirements, and the congressional appointment process. Representatives from the following will be present:U. S. Naval Academy, U. S. Military Academy, U. S. Air Force Academy, U. S. Merchant Marine Academy, U. S.
