Profile:

After taking a baby break to enjoy the birth of my first son I am looking forward to go back to work as engineer onboard a motor or sailing yacht of a size of 100ft + on a permanent long term basis. Due to my girlfriend and son being American and US based yacht would be ideal but I would be interested in a rotational position. I am currently not having a B1/B2 visa but am willing to get it on my own cost with the ships papers.

As a trained IT-Technician I am very good in fixing all kinds of computer and electrical problems and I’ve got a very good understanding of technical problems and solving skills. In my free time I enjoy flipping houses as an investment but doing the work myself, so I’ve got good knowledge in all parts of electricity, plumbing, woodwork etc. . I am about to do my AEC course starting on Monday the 9th in Fort Lauderdale to get my first MCA certificate.

Quality “made in Germany” is my way of working and so I like to get a job done well. I am hard working, reliable, handle stressful situations with a positive sense of humor and I like working in and as part of a team. I am holding the Germanpowerboat licensewhich is not limited in size or weight. In addition I got the RYA Powerboat Level 2including commercial endorsementand just recently the Yachtmaster Offshore theory and practical course.

Since I was a child, I learned from my father (electrician) and my grandfather (carpenter) how to handle tools and materials like wood and metal and so I have very good skills.

Also, I serviced and setup the watermaker, pumps and stabilizer after month off being unused. Working on the electrical side I did some fault finding on battery charger, and generators as well as replacing and installing new batteries and autopilot.

After reorganizing the storage layout in the engine room I still had spare time to do some paint touchups and creating some missing drawings besides to normal maintenance like checking and replacing zincs, changer oil, oil filter and fuel filter before I started preparing the boat for a 6 week dead ship delivery on “7 stars”.
