STUDY GUIDE QUESTIONS (Due Oct 25/26)

Please answer these questions THOROUGHLY.

  1. Describe the role of the Nile and the desert in shaping Ancient Egyptian life and culture. This should be a lengthy paragraph—there are many aspects to this!
  1. Make a timeline of Ancient Egypt (doesn’t need to be to scale) showing the various major periods and people listed in the key terms.
  1. Describe the hierarchy of Ancient Egypt. How does this relate to religious beliefs? Also, what was daily life like for different social classes?
  1. Briefly retell the story of Osiris, Isis, Set, and Horus. How does this relate to ideas about life and death?
  1. Describe Ancient Egyptian Burial Practices. How do they relate to religious beliefs? How did they change over time?
  1. Discuss the influence of Ancient Egypt in the modern world and the dispersal of Egyptian artifacts around the world.
  1. Be able to locate cities and regions of importance on a map of Egypt (nothing to answer here.)
