VOLUNTEER ROLE DESCRIPTION

IT and Network ADMINISTRATOR

About LADPP: We help improve the quality of life of disabled Spanish and Portuguese speaking people from Latin America, Europe andAfrica living in London. For people with little access to services in the capital our aim is to work with their carers, families and communities,improving their quality of life, putting an end to isolation and to support community integration.

Mission: Provide technical assistance and support to the organization through the means of IT and Networking.

As IT administrator, LADPP expects that the volunteer will:

1.  Overview the computers, networks and the server.

2.  Have knowledge of joomla and hardware repair (essential).

3.  Make sure to set up a security copy of the entire project’s information on a regular basis.

4.  Assist computer users within the organisation.

5.  Be the first person contacted in case of any difficulty with computers and if possible sort them out.

6.  Keep a written record of all problems related to computers and their possible solutions.

7.  Liaise with other support companies.

8.  Keep our Web page updated (or keep in touch with the website volunteer)

9.  Keep the inventory of the computer equipment and programs up to date.

10. Make sure all our programs have a licence.

11. Provide information regarding the strategy for the computers system and the annual budget for computers.

12. Keep the volunteer IT policies up-to-date.

13. Work in accordance with our policies of confidentiality and Health and Safety.

It is essential that the successful volunteer has an advanced level of both English and Spanish and be able to volunteer a minimum of 2 days per week. We expect a minimum commitment of 3 months.

Knowledge of Portuguese is desirable but not essential.
