Hello

The Garden Party of 2008 “is a go”. We’ve been talking with a lot of people and are very encouraged with the numbers.

At the present we are in the process of finalizing our schedule of events. You will be very excited about some new games this year for both the young and young at heart. Plus we have a few little surprises. A copy of the “schedule of events” will be in the Community Centre on Wednesday night and Thursday morning (Aug 6 &7th) for anyone who would like to see what time the activities are taking place. Please feel free to collect one so you won’t miss out on anything

Please keep in mind the following:

  • Variety Concert - We would like to encourage you to try and participate in our Variety Concert on Friday evening (Aug 8th). Why don’t you try and get together with a few friends and perform a little skit or perform a comedy act to a favorite song? If you have any ideas for the Variety Concert please contact Lucy Counsel. Lucy will be doing the scheduling for the concert along with the MC duties again this year.
  • Gifts - If you have any items you would like to donate for prizes, please contact us. A gift you bought but didn’t get a chance to deliver, any household items, pot cloths, towels, toys etc. We would like to have those items by the middle of June.
  • Soup - Once again we’ll be looking for people to donate soup. Please contact me (Val) if you’re able to make a boiler of soup. This will avoid everyone with the same kind.
  • Baked Goods- Loretta Pomroy (Eddie’s wife) will be soliciting baked goods, i.e. white bread , molasses bread , buns, cookies, muffins, bottle meat and jams for our “Goods table” if your able to donate please call Loretta at 227-3546 after July 10th and let her know what you want to contribute.

Volunteers- We’ll be looking for people to man/woman our games at the Garden Party and at the outside games we’ll be planning. If you would like to volunteer your time please contact me.

We are all looking forward to this summer and as the time approaches we are getting more excited. With your help I think we’ll have another enjoyable time.
