CENTRAL KENTUCKY ANTIQUE PULLERS
2017 PULLING RULES
- Tractors Must be 1959 or older (tractor series must start by 1959).
- Tractor must have stock transmission, rear end and axle housing or replacement of the same manufacturer. Headed, blocks (jugs), manifolds must be the same manufacturer as the crankcase and frame. Modified tractors are allowed altered manifolds/headers. Engine must be of the same number of cylinders and fuel type originally manufactured.
- Any agricultural type carburetor allowed. Must be the same number of barrels, throat and draft direction as originally manufactured.
- Gas, diesel, or LP fuels only. No alcohol or nitrous oxide fuels may be used in tractors. Tractors manufactured to use diesel fuel only cannot be converted to gas or LP.
- All tractors must be naturally aspirated.
- Fan guards or side shields are MANDATORY on all tractors.
- No steel wheels. Two (2) wheel drive only. No Duals.
- All tractors allowed 20% over RPM. (M & W chart used to determine RPM of tractor.) All tractors are required to have a working governor.
- Working KILL switches are MANDATORY on all tractors.
- Hitch of any type, not less than 18 inches from the center of the rear axle to end of hook point. This WILL be measured. Must not be more than 20 inches in height. Hitch must be stationary in all directions, and hitch hole must allow hook point to flow freely and be parallel with the ground.
- Wheelie Bars are REQUIRED and can be no higher than 10”. The pads/wheels must extend past the tires. The pads must be at least 4” x 4” and be able to support the weight of the tractor. This is subject to random safety checks.
- Weights on front of tractor cannot extend more than 11 feet from the center of the rear axle to the front of the weight. Weights on the rear cannot extend beyond the rear tires.
- Puller has 2 attempts to reach the 40-foot mark. Horn blowing past the half-track mark will result in disqualification. Front of the sled will be used as location to measure 40-foot mark and half-track mark.
- Driver must remain in the seat and one hand on the steering wheel, hand clutch or throttle at all times during the pull.
- Tractor must stay in bounds at all times. Anything dropping from the tractor while tractor is hooked to the sled will result in disqualification.
- Pullers under the age of 18 must have writer parental/guardian permission. An experienced adult must accompany an inexperienced driver on the track at all times.
- Anyone to protest a tractor will post a $25 protest fee. The person protesting will be checked first.
- NO FLOATING FINISHES.
- Judges’ decision will be final.
All tractors are subject to random RPM & Reweight checks. All Rules will be enforced with no exceptions.
Super Farm Stock
- Super Farm Stock can run any gear.
- Speed limit is 3 MPH.
- Tires sizes: up to 16.9 x 38 (14 x 38 old style tires) on 16” rim in the 5500 class and below. 18.4 x 38 (16 x 38 old style tires) on 18” rim in the 6000 class and up. (1955 Tire Conversion Chart used.)
- TOP CUT TIRES ALLOWED.
- No alterations to wheel base of the tractors are allowed.
Modified Stock
- Modified stock can run any gear.
- Speed limit is 5 MPH.
- Tires Sizes: Maximum of 18.4 x 38 (16 x 38 old style tires) on any size rim. (1955 Tire Conversion Chart Used.)
Pure Stock
- Standard rules apply to this class, with the exception of items 2 through 12 below which specifically apply to this Pure Stock Classes.
- Tractors must have stock wheels for the model being pulled.
- Tractors must have a stock drawbar and pull from factory pulling point.
- If a part is not in manufacturer’s part book it cannot be used, with the exception of straight exhaust pipe, alternator and electronic ignition.
- Hitch point must be horizontal and parallel to the ground (no straight clevis) no less than 20 inches from the center of the axle to the end of the hook point. Hitch must be no more than 18 inches in height to the hook point.
- Tractor must have original air cleaner and carburetor.
- Speed limit is 3 MPH after the half-track mark.
- Wheelie bars/wheels and kill switches are not required but are recommended.
- No Radial Tires.
- No Altered Tires.
- No Hang-On Weights.
- Maximum tire size 15.5 x 38.
- Judges’ decisions are final.
