THE FOLLOWING SPECIES WILL COUNT FOR SCORING AS INDICATED BELOW

1.  Blue & Black Marlin – release only.

2.  Striped Marlin – release only.

3.  Sailfish –release only

4.  Shortbill Spearfish –release only

5.  Dorado – minimum weight – 5kg

6.  Couta – minimum weight – 5kg

7.  Wahoo – minimum weight – 6kg

8.  Tuna (any Tuna species) – minimum weight – 6kg

9.  Kingfish (any Kingfish species) – Release only

10.  Queenfish – minimum weight – 3kg

11.  Natal Snoek – minimum weight - 3kg

12.  Prodigalson – minimum weight – 6kg

FISH WEIGHING LESS THAN THE MINIMUM WEIGHTS DETAILED ABOVE WILL NOT COUNT.

ONLY 5 FISH PER SPECIES MAY BE WEIGHED PER DAY AND FOR THE DURATION OF THE COMPETITION. (E.G. if 5 Dorado are weighed on the 1st day then no more Dorado may be weighed during the rest of the competition etc.)

SCORING SYSTEM:

1.  Blue & Black Marlin – minimum weight of 150kg T/R - 75 points. Photo & colour card to be issued with photo for verification.

2.  Striped Marlin – minimum weight of 75kg T/R - 75 points. Photo & colour card to be issued with photo for verification.

3.  Sailfish – minimum weight of 30kg T/R - 50 points. Photo & colour card to be issued with photo for verification.

4.  Shortbill Spearfish – minimum weight of 15kg. T/R - 15 points. Photo & colour card to be issued with photo for verification.

5.  Dorado – minimum weight of 5kg at the scale (1 point / kg)

6.  Couta – minimum weight of 5kg at the scale (1 point / kg)

7.  Wahoo – minimum weight of 6kg at the scale (1 point / kg)

8.  Tuna (any Tuna species) – minimum weight of 6kg at the scale (1 point / kg)

9.  Kingfish (any Kingfish species) – minimum weight of 6kg at the scale (1 point / kg)

10.  Queenfish – minimum weight of 3kg at the scale (1 point per kg)

11.  Natal Snoek – minimum weight of 3kg at the scale (1 point per kg)

12.  Prodigalson – minimum weight of 6kg at the scale (1 point per kg)

BONUS SCORING SYSTEM OVER WHOLE COMP PER SPECIES:

1 SPECIES: Points plus 12

The Bonus Scoring System will only be applicable on a daily basis.

E.G.: If 4 species are caught on day 1 and different species are caught on day 2, then the new species will not be considered as a 5th species on day 2 etc….

EXAMPLE:

Boat “St Lucia Challenger” catches the following:

DAY 1: Releases 1 Striped Marlin + weighs in 2 Couta (6.7kg & 8.4kg) + weighs 1 Dorado of 9.3kg and a Wahoo of 15.2kg

SCORING AT THE END OF DAY 1:

1 Striped Marlin release: 75 points, plus 12 bonus points for 1st species = 87 points

2 Couta: 15.1 points (6.7 points plus 8.4 points), plus 24 bonus points for 2nd species = 87 + 15.1 + 24 = 126.1 points

1 Dorado: 9.3 points, plus 36 points for 3rd species = 126.1 + 9.3 + 36 = 171.4 points

1 Wahoo: 15.2 points, plus 48 points for 4th species = 171.4 + 15.2 + 48 = 234.6 points.

Total points for Day 1 = 234.6 points

DAY 2: Weighs 1 Couta of 9.4kg + 1 Snoek of 5.7kg

SCORING AT THE END OF DAY 2:

1 Couta: 9.4 points, plus 12 bonus points for 1st species = 21.4 points

1 Snoek: 5.7 points, plus 24 points for 2nd species = 21.4 + 5.7 + 24 = 51.1 points

Total points for Day 2 = 51.1 points

Total points at the end of Day 2: 234.6 + 51.1 = 285.7 points
