You don't have to be rich to be a Christian.

Dear friends, here are two ideas to help spread the spirit of Christmas.

1 The following pages are black & white pictures you can print without color, on used "one side still blank" A4 paper. They then can then be folded into simple cards you can write short appreciative messages anytime, like when passing things at work, office, home, or just little notes of encouragement; "I noticed your still-cheerful demeanor after working here so long", etc. Don't miss chances to leave positive comments.

I was at Yishun Polyclinic one day and noticed a young Eurasian-looking guy with a disposition that brightened the small canteen he was serving at. I made a simple card and wrote: "Your prompt and cheerful service brightens us up. Here, you're more valuable than any VIP or authority. Thank you very much." When he received the card, he said a big "Thank you Sir!" and flashed a smile that brightened my heart even more. We had extra divine energy that day. (It's always two ways.)

If you like, the pictures can be re-sized, in Microsoft Word, to fill out the whole page or less. Of course you can also print just the page you like, print on a new sheet of paper, or print with a color printer for the sepia effect.

You may have to save this document with a different name first before you can do any re-sizing or moving of pictures.

2 I've been urged by Singaporeans to use WhatsApp, or Line by Thais, or Viber, WeChat, Kakao, etc. Yes, they are free, but I wanted something more to reach those who can't have these apps, folks who aren't tech-savvy, or don't use a smart-phone. They are still the majority in the world. So I delayed...

Until now, there's Yuilop, available on many platforms. (see yuilop.com) You earn and use "free credits" to call or text these folks. Between Yuilop users it is free like other apps.

Do help to check this out, and lookout for more of such apps. Be more free to reach out to those left-out.

My Advent (Latin= coming) note:

2013 is a momentous year. Pope Benedict resigned, Pope Francis took over, wanting a poor Church for the poor, missionary, reforming, upsetting our own Pharisees, and drawing in those outside the Church.

I'll write my Christmas/New-Year note by end 2013 on my Facebook and web-site.

There's just too much not to say, and not to do, now.

On your mark, get set. . .

Have a meaningful Advent and Christmas Season,
