Dear Denise,
I find myself surround by
"Why not US?" packed
suitcases in my bedroom once again. For the 4th time this year I'm headed to Seattle to be with my Mom. I'm grateful for the community in which I serve & their love & care for me...the grace & understanding that they extend to me as I care for my Mom. I'm honored by the love they send with

* Dear Friends,
I am so grateful for all your prayers, help, & support. As you can see I am about half of what I should have for 2014. My monthly obligations are the same in Poland whether or not I'm living there. This means that
when I'm in the US I'm literally paying to live in 2 places.
You may be wondering how I have been about to do this....well... just like you. I have had to use my savings. The money I have set aside for my retirement.
I trust Jesus & he is faithful.
I only ask that you prayerfully consider helping out.
Thanks so much! Yours in Christ, Denise

"It Takes A
Village To...."
On my last trip to the NW I was driving down I-5 to a meeting
I was thinking/praying. Which I have found this to be the best time for me to connect with the Lord
I often hear from him in profound ways. This was no exception.
I was thinking about how we often
say that "It takes a village to raise a child".
Although I don't have any children
of my own, I have had the honor of being one of those "significant others" in the community that

Please pray with me as my weight has continued to increase without a change in diet. Even with increase exercise it has had no effect. Also, I haven't been sleeping well.
I have a doctor's appointment this week to see what might be contributing to this situation. Thanks for being my accountability in this process & your continued prayers.

A Time to Celebrate
Communion
Once again I want to thank all of you that participated in the Adopt-A-Missionary partnership. God did such an amazing thing that it is difficult to put it all in words.
So many of you have asked about how things went or you had questions about what you received in your packets.
Others asked about the ministry
team or how the Poles responded Friends to this group.
has help to raise many a child. Sometimes as the trusted teacher or school counselor, other times as a youth pastor or Sunday school teacher, a mentor, friend or the wacky auntie. And these days, I get to be the weird American Lady
who plays volleyball with the young people in the village (a
real village).
My roles have varied but I have found that for those young people they all needed another voice. One that could echo the sound wisdom of their parents but say in a different way & often with a bit less emotion. And sometimes I got the honor of being a type of a surrogate for those who have a need for healing & restoration.
But my journey was
Therefore, I have arranged for us to have a time of
Celebration when I will give a full report, with pictures of what happened, and where we will go from here.

Below are some links to information you have asked about.
Because YOU asked:
Where in the World ARE you?
Well, at the moment I'm on my way back to Seattle. But not without the Lord doing some amazing things. Probably the biggest thing is that the Holy Spirit has visited the Baptist Church the next town over. And I get to hang around & help them learn how to walk in the fullness of the Spirit.
When I return I will help find music that will help them worship in away that is more reflective of their new experiences in Jesus. We will do a discipleship class for their 2 young couples that were recently baptized & the couples from my church.
We are looking to develop a suicide prevention program for the high school in their town.
Because YOU asked: What about your visa?
Miracles do happen! In a time when some of my fellow missionaries are waiting anxiously to hear if theirs has been renewed or some have even be deported. Mine was so easy
longer & began to realize that "It takes a village to do more than just raise a child...it takes a village help someone
to pass through to the next life." As I reflected on
all the people who have come along side me & my family as we have navigated mom's illness. The family & friends who have visited, called, prayed & extended helping hands. Not to mention all the medical & professional help. Especially now that Mom is in Hospice care & she is becoming more & more weak I so grateful for all the people "in the village" who have been there. Finally, "It Takes a Village To ... Extend the Love of Jesus" to a broken & hurting world. In missions we talk about the need for people to pray, give & go but really
Me & Mom in Aug
I'm still picking my jaw up off the floor. It took the completion of 1 form, a copy of my passport & old residence card, 2 photos, $18 & it was ready in 2.5 weeks.
Because YOU asked: How's your Mom?
This is probably the most difficult question to answer. She is still kicking but
I received a call from her Hospice nurse last week that she has started to slide. I will
stay in Seattle until she goes on to her heavenly reward.
Because YOU asked:
What will you do while in Seattle?
I will spend as much time as possible with my Mom.
I will attend the NW Foursquare District Pastor's conference in Spokane.
I'm going to host a small group at Eastside Foursquare on Thursday @ 7, starting Oct 2nd for 5 weeks, in the
Fireside room. "Living a Transformed Life West of50: Releasing Our Full Potential". If you would like tojoin us, email me:
