VSA Resorts Charitable Giving Program

VSA Resorts Charitable Giving Program is a way for us to give back to the community in which we operate. Our intent is to make a difference in the communities where our employees and owners live, work and play, by collaborating with local organizations to direct our resources where the most impact can be made.

The VSA Resorts H.E.L.P program gives in-kind donations of vacation and travel to organizations that align with one of the 4 focus areas:

Health – Health and medical issues, with particular focus on 5 key areas: Cancer, ALS, Heart Disease, Children’s Health, and Psoriasis.

Environmental Conservation – VSA Resorts is dedicated to protecting and preserving natural resources. Priority will be given to organizations: working toward preserving the local Hampton Roads waterways; providing environmental conservation education; and “greening” our neighborhoods and communities.

Learning – Education, both at the primary and secondary level. In addition, non-school based organizations that show educational programs dedicated to workforce readiness or life preparednessare of particular interest.

Passionate Community Development – VSA Resorts is committed to strengthening the community around us. Requests must show support of one of the following 5 areas: Poverty and Hunger Relief; Elder Care and programs aimed at bettering the lives of the Elderly; Animal Care; Children and Youth support; and
Recreational Programs.

In-Kind Donations

Donations are given only to eligible organizations that are tax exempt under
Section 501( c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Organizations must benefit domestic US-based programs.

Guidelines and Criteria

1. If your organization or request falls within our H.E.L.P. focus areas outlined above, please submit your formal request on organization letterhead.

2. Requests must include:

  1. Agency/Organization Name
  2. Contact Person
  3. Mailing address, telephone number, e-mail address
  4. Organization’s website address
  5. Brief statement of the organization’s mission
  6. Description of which of the four (4) H.E.L.P. focus areas your program or service satisfies and how. What population benefits from your organization’s efforts?
  7. Item(s) requested
  8. Overview of event or program for which donation is requested. How will the donation be used?
  9. Line-item budget for event or program/project
  10. Past involvement from VSA Resorts, if any.
  11. Description of Volunteer Programs that may be available for VSA Resorts employees and owner-base to participate.
  12. 501 (c ) (3) determination letter
  13. List of organization’s Board of Directors

4. Proposals will be reviewed quarterly in March, June, September, and December.

Requests must be in on the last day of the month preceding the reviewing month in
order to be considered. (Submission deadline for March review is February 28; June
review is May 31; September review is August 31; and December review is November
30)
