• Council Updates
New members will be elected Jan. 18, 2017. New officers will be elected at a subsequent
Council meeting. Fellowship and covenant were important for the new Council as the
year began. Betsy met with Brian Davis and Don Costello on Stewardship to help clarify
our intentions with the Strategy for Designated Funds. She also met with Matt Buckley
on the former Governance Study Team to gain insight into their intentions for the Church
Council and Bon Air church governance.
• Consent Agenda
- Nov. 29, 2016 Meeting Minutes and January Clerk’s Report approved: 4 approved by letter, 3 by statement. 4 removed by death, 1 by letter, 1 by request.
• Update on Church Council Election Process
Church Council election is on the agenda for the Business Meeting on Wed., Jan. 18,
2017 at 5:30 PM at the Buford Road Campus. Candidate profiles were published and
distributed with bulletins on Sun., Jan. 1, 2017 (also available on the church web site).
Fred gave an update on the voting and counting process. Council members will serve as
the counting team. Betsy will call each of the three newly elected Council members.
After that, Council members will call those who were not elected. Those elected will be
announced the following Sunday morning.
• The Arrabon Conference (Race, Class and the Kingdom of God) will be held Mar. 23 - 25, 2017 at the West End Assembly of God. Bon Air has been offered a special admission rate, so let Tom know if interested in attending with the church group.
