Minutes for BC Meeting 10/14/15

1. Alphorn Club

  • Need new music and new parts to make alphorns for new members
  • Also need money to rent a locker for the instruments
  • A group of students who take pcb piping to make alphorns
  • Want to use 3D printers to make it more accurate
  • Current repertoire is slightly limited
  • Need adaptor for mouth pieces since slightly different for alphorns
  • Paul – how will this be paid? Usually charged to student account
  • Could be charged under student account and then reimbursed
  • Manny – how many people?
  • 10-12 people
  • Aditi – how long existed?
  • This is the 3rd semester
  • Motion to fund – 4,0,0

2. Mock Trial

  • Need 300 for supplies
  • Previous supplies were for binding and printing, and costs surpassed what was needed, and will need more supplies for the end of the year for binders for competitions
  • Manny and Paul – will we be paying for money that has already been spent? Ex post facto?
  • Paul – how many people?
  • A team and B team – about 8 per team
  • Also have demonstratives
  • Paul – reusing? Can only buy supplies for each club every 5 years
  • Binders can be reused – didn’t have binders last year
  • Need to print out cases
  • Tess – binders are probably not the expensive part, is probably the printing
  • Did not buy binders last year – only did printing
  • Have a long case working on, so need more paper?
  • Tess – seems very integral to the club
  • Aditi – not about the funding, it’s about how much we should spend on this
  • Pierre – seems to be a larger amount than expected for OAS printing
  • Pierre – can we table this until next time so that we can get a better estimate?
  • Seemed to only have spent about 250 last time
  • Paul – already spent most of money from club budgets for supplies

3. Purple Pride

  • Requested money for new uniforms for homecoming but have not received yet

4. ACEMS

  • Money to reimburse past members fees
  • Motion to fund – 4,0,0

5. Pre-buisness Group

  • Inviting alum currently working at a big bank for apps to bank
  • 50 for discussion food and 15 for publicity
  • At 4 in paino
  • Motion to fund – 4,0,0

6. Amherst Athletes and Allies

  • 20 for discussion food
  • Motion to fund – 4,0,0
