Position: Director of Leadership Programs

Reports to: Provost/Dean of the College

POSITION SUMMARY: Develop and direct daily activities related to Leadership programs designed to inspire and engage students and stakeholders.

Essential Functions:

  • Advise and mentor fellows in the Reagan Leadership program.
  • Regular meetings and activities to foster leadership development
  • Oversight of summer programming and mentorships
  • Support of experiential learning activities
  • Accompany freshmen Fellows on annual trip
  • Work in conjunction with Admissions Staff to facilitate outreach and lead efforts in the recruitment of students interested in college leadership programs.
  • Teach general service (IDS & Leadership) courses.
  • Develop and implement new revenue generating programs for nontraditional learners, such as workshops and short courses.
  • Collect and maintain data and records of all leadership programs for multiple reporting, assessmentand evaluative purposes.
  • Manage the Leadership Programs department budget.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work closely with Development and Alumni Relations staff for the coordination and support of development efforts to support leadership programs.
  • Maintain relationships with alumni that were Reagan Fellows.
  • Serve on International Travel Review Panel.

Education:

Essential:Masters’s Degree Leadership, Communication, Psychology, Business or related field, from an accredited four year college or university.

Desirable:Doctorate in Leadership, Communication, Psychology, Business or related field.

Experience:

Essential:Teaching experience in management or leadership curricula.

Desirable:3-5 years’ experience in management or leadership roles in business, government or not-for-profit organizations.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Ability to coordinate and collaborate with faculty and staff.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with various external constituencies including potential students and their families, alumni, donors and other friends of the College.
  • Skilled in components of Microsoft Office, internet research, social media and electronic mail.

Working Conditions:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The office is located on the third floor of an historic building that has no elevator.

Work Schedule:

Normal work schedule is Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00PM with one hour allocated for lunch. Flexibility in schedule is needed to allow for periodic travel and evening and weekend hours.
