Position Information

Position: Business Services Specialist / Reports To: Accounts Receivable Supervisor / Location: Eastover
Department: Business Office / Work Week: M-F / Hours: 40 / Type of Position: Non-Exempt

Job Duties

·  Answers, delineates, and distributes Business Office queue calls and voice mail according to insurance assignments.

·  Work internal audits as well as monthly financial report.

·  Cross trained in various business office job duties and service as back-up to: insurance verification, scheduling, medical records, insurance authorization, and front desk.

·  Schedule payment arrangements with patients from overdue accounts and research accounts.

·  Collect patient payments for overdue accounts.

·  Responsible for mail room duties, secondary claims, and reconciles purchase orders to supplies received.

·  Monitor and assure that new patient and new immunotherapy forms are replenished in a timely manner.

·  Maintain photocopy machine to ensure an adequate paper supply.

·  Ability to enter accurately data and examine insurance documents

·  Maintains operational flexibility to meet sudden unpredictable business needs.

·  Provide patients with accurate information regarding their accounts.

·  Provide back-up support for posters, schedulers, and insurance personnel within the CAAC Business Services Department.

·  Attend and participate in staff meetings and trainings as directed.

·  Other duties and projects as assigned.

Skill Set Required

·  Must have basic knowledge of medical terminology.

·  Proficient in Excel

·  Must be able to multi-task.

·  Ability to meet daily deadlines.

·  Must be computer literate.

·  Excellent interpersonal, customer service, communication, and verbal skills.

·  Must obtain a professional demeanor at all times.

·  Ability to deal courteously with patients, staff, and others.

·  Ability to work well under pressure.

·  Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

·  Ability to adapt to policy/billing procedure changes

·  Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.

·  Occasional overtime may be required

Transfer Requirements

·  Must be in current position for at least 6 months or at the discretion of management. / ·  Must be in good standing (i.e. no verbal or written warnings in the last 6 month period)
·  Must have good performance, attendance and punctuality record.
