All money is due September 12, 2014. Please provide a cashier’s check or cash for the purchase of your project. See your Agriscience instructor for details. Read the following information carefully because there have been some changes. The $20 entry fee has been included in the total.
Please Note: Whether you are paying in cash or with a cashier’s check, we need for the cost of the animal to be separated from the cost of pen rent. (Ex: Steer = one cashier’s check for $1720.00 for the animal and one cashier’s check for $200.00 for pen rent)

For each project, the student is responsible for securing feed and ensuring the animal is cared for. Eligibility check will be completed before the date of the show (the “No pass, No play” rule is in effect). If an ineligible student has a project in the barn, the animal will have to be removed from the barn before the start of the 2015 CCISD Livestock Show and Auction. You must be enrolled in one agriscience course to be eligible to exhibit a project.
Purchase of a livestock project(s) is not required of a student to be enrolled in an agricultural course or to participate in the CCISD show and auction. Students may also enter Ag. Mechanics, Floriculture, Horticulture, Visual Arts and Food Science projects to be a participant of the show and auction. Each exhibitor must be a paid FFA member in good standing with their respective chapter.
In addition to the payment of the project, students need to turn in an entry form, a W-9, a show rule agreement, and a barn rule agreement (if the project is kept in the barn) to their agriscience instructor prior to selection.
Please note that if you plan to participate in the CCISD Livestock Auction, you will need to have official dress in order to Auction. Please see your ag. teacher for details.
All Paperwork will be due on September 12, 2014. This includes:

Failure to attend and sign-in at themandatory clean-up sessions posted above will result in a $100 fine for each session.
General Rules
- The agriscience teachers of this school district and the appointed show officials under their direction, reserve the final and absolute right to interpret these rules and regulations and arbitrarily settle and determine all matters, questions and differences in regard and hereto otherwise arising out of, connected with, or incidental to this educational event. This governing body is later referred to in this instrument as the “Management”.
- The show Management reserves the right to amend and/or add to these rules and regulations as it, in its judgment, may deem advisable. Management authority and responsibility are limited to those activities and events directly related to and being part of the CCISD FFA Livestock Show and Auction Schedule and Rules.
- The Clear Creek Independent School District, its employees, and appointed show officials will not be liable for any damage(s) resulting from fire, theft, accident, injury or any other adverse situation(s).
- The agriscience teachers will strictly regulate any and all construction building or site modification and/or introduction or use of equipment. Prior CCISD administrative approval is required. The agriscience teachers will make appropriate pen assignments for animals brought into the West Agricultural Facility for the week of the Livestock Show and Auction. Animals housed at the West Agricultural Facility may be reassigned temporarily during the show. Assignments will be determined by agriscience teachers.
- The show facilities will be closed at 9:00 p.m. or when the last show is completed for the evening, whichever comes last. It will reopen at 5:00 a.m. on all show days except for the morning following the live auction. On the day following live auction, the barn will not officially be open to the public until 1:00 p.m. If students have an animal that needs to be fed on that morning, it is the responsibility of the student to leave out the right amount of food that needs to be fed to the animal so that the show management team can feed.
- All alcoholic beverages and tobacco products are barred from the show grounds as per state statutes and local CCISD rules and regulations. Any person caught with an alcoholic beverage or tobacco product will be removed from the show grounds. If that person has an animal project to show, he/she will be barred from further competition and will be reported to proper authorities for disciplinary action.
- Protests: All protests must be made in writing and submitted to a committee consisting of the agriscience teachers, the Chairmen and the CCISD Administration along with a $250.00 fee, which will be forfeited if the protest is not sustained.
- Foods and soft drinks will be offered for sale by a local vendor.
- Inappropriate behavior, gestures or offensive language will not be tolerated. District code of conduct will be enforced. Consequences will vary depending on severity.
- Exhibitors must be enrolled in at least one semester of an agriscience course in the Clear Creek Independent School District during the 2014-2015 school year. Exhibitors must also be paid FFA members in good standing and have satisfactory class attendance records.
- A student will be eligible to participate for only four years, as defined by school district policy.
- Exhibitors must abide by all rules in accordance with local district policy regarding eligibility for participation.
- Each exhibitor must own his/her animal at the beginning of and throughout the feeding period and must feed, care for, and exhibit his/her own animal. Any break in the ownership or enrollment in CCISD agriscience program forfeits animal and or exhibit entry. Exhibitors may only exhibit the designated livestock project officially tagged in their name on the designated selection day.
- In case an exhibitor is unable to check in his/her project, with prior notification, the project may be checked in by another FFA student, teacher or parent. Projects may only be checked in during designated times. There will be no early or late check-ins.
- Substitution exhibitors will be approved by the agriscience teachers.
- Exhibitors will not be allowed to stay overnight on the show grounds.
- Hats or caps on exhibitors will not be allowed in the show ring.
- All students who have assigned facilities and/or used facilities at the FFA project barn before and during the auction, must leave the facility clean, in a sound state of repair.
- Students failing to sign in and participate in show clean up as designated by their agriscience teachers (please see schedule) will be fined a $100.00 fee for each session. All stalls and pens at the barn must be cleaned by the Friday following auction. This fine will be deducted from the sale of the livestock project or assessed at the conclusion of the show.
- All fees, if any, owed to the CCISD FFA Livestock Show and Auction must be paid in full. Students will be checked out officially by their agriscience teacher(s) and respective chairmen. Fees will need to be cleared by March 6, 2015.
- Exhibitor must be present at time of show.
- Entry Fee is $20.00for the following categories: Steers, Lambs, Swine, Goats, Broilers, Turkeys, Rabbits, Breeding Heifers, and Longhorns. *Note: These fees are used to help finance show expenses.
- Entry Fee is $10.00 for the following categories: Horticulture, Floral Design, Visual Arts, Food Science and Ag Mechanics. *Note: These fees are used to help finance show expenses.
- Entry forms, fees, and W-9’s for Horticulture, Floriculture, Visual Arts, Ag. Mechanics, Food Science, Longhorns, and Breeding Heifers must be submitted by November 14, 2014. All entries are submitted to the respective agriscience teachers.
- All steers, lambs, swine, goats and poultry will be “centrally ordered” through the agriscience teachers. Students will draw for pick out of a group of like steers, lambs, swine and goats. All animals must come from this “central order” to be eligible for competition at the CCISD FFA Livestock Show and Auction. The central producer/breeder will be selected by the agriscience teachers.
- Each student is allowed to purchase, tag-in, and show only one animal project in each livestock division. However, for Ag. Mechanics, Floral Design, Horticulture, Food Science, and Visual Artsa student may enter in each class within the division (i.e. one fresh floral project and one silk floral project.)
- Show entries will be limited to the divisions offered.
- Agriscience teachers are to determine when the judging of classes shall begin. Agriscience teachers will inform the ring steward when students are to enter the arena.
- All judges’ decisions are final.
- All livestock and poultry entered in theCCISD FFA Livestock Show Auction will be tagged/banded/tattooed when exhibitors select animals under the supervision of the agriscience teachers.
- If the animal is not tagged/banded/tattooed on the set date, then the student will not be allowed to exhibit the animal at the CCISD FFA Livestock Show and Auction.
- If an animal loses their official CCISD tag/band(s), the exhibitor must immediately notify their agriscience teacher so that the animal can be re-tagged/re-banded.
- No non-tagged/non-banded/non-tattooed animal will be allowed to check-in or weigh-in at the CCISD FFA Livestock Show and Auction.
- The tag/band must remain in place until the show and auction is over and the animals have been officially checked-out by official show representatives.
- Each exhibitor will feed and care for his/her animal during the entire length of the show.
- The CCISD Livestock Show and Auction reserves the right to collect a urine sample for laboratorial analysis on all species of Grand Champion and ReserveGrand Champion animals exhibited at the show, and a random draw fromclasses in each species at show management’s discretion. It is the exhibitor’s/parents’ responsibility to remain with the animal and assist in the collection. Each exhibitor or parent must sign a form indicating that they witnessed the collection of the urine sample. An exhibitor of an animal producing an analysis with a quantity of diuretic, any unapproved medication, or any substance not approved by the FDA will forfeit sales proceeds and will be barred from participation in future CCISD Livestock Show and Auction competitions. All tests will be final without recourse against CCISD Livestock Show and Auction or any of its officers. Upon receipt of test results, checks will be issued to eligible exhibitors.
- Evidence of the following will result in automatic disqualification from the current year’s CCISD Livestock Show and Auction, which includes the live auction, and freezer sale. If you have a commitment, it will be voided. Also, any student who violates this policy will forfeit all privileges of being able to show at the CCISD Livestock Show & Auction for the duration of their high school years.
- Animal abuse; this will be determined by an agriscience teacher and/or veterinarian.
- Physical alteration of the natural conformation of the animal being shown other than dehorning and castration.
- Changing out animal; the animal validated for the CCISD Livestock Show and Auction, must be the animal shown and auctioned.
- Microchip informationon the following species: cattle, swine, lambs and goats that do not match what is on file with the CCISD Livestock Show Department/Management Team
- Final tattoo on the following species: rabbits thatdoes not match initial tattoo that is on file with the CCISD Livestock Show Department/Management Team.
- All CCISD market animals that are not eligible for the CCISD Livestock Show and Auction must be removed from CCISD property by 9:00 p.m. on Friday, January 9, 2015. All animals still in the barn after this time will be hauled to local livestock market and sold at market price.
- The weight of the animal, as certified by the show management team, at the weigh-in time of the show is considered the official weight for the auction sale and the animal will only be weighed once.
- Official weigh in will be conducted by an outside certified company.
- All ear tags must remain in the animal’s ears after they are shown. These tags are used for identification purposes. If your ear tag is missing on Friday, January 30, 2015 for load out, you will be fined $100.00.
- All entered livestock must remain within the fenced show facilities until officially released. If the rule is violated, the exhibitor forfeits the opportunity to show at the CCISD Livestock Show and Auction the following school year.
Auction Rules
- The number of and types of sales items will be determined by the agriscience teachers upon final check-in of all entries. There will be a total of 77 lots sold in 2015.
