SESSIONAL YOUTH WORKER

SESSIONAL YOUTH WORKER (Part time, sessional)

We are recruiting for a pool of sessional youth workerswith specific skills to support our team of staff and volunteers in running all Zac’s activities. Hours will range (on average) 0 – 6 hours a week, with work predominantly taking place at evenings and weekends in Farnworth and surrounding areas.

The hourly rate is £7.20 an hour

KEY TASKS WILL INCLUDE:

  1. Promoting the participation of local young people in the activities.
  1. Establishing relationships and a style of working that will enable the young people to safely learn and develop, in accordance with the principles and values of youth work and the Christian ethos of the organisation.
  1. Supporting young people to achieve positive outcomes based on their needs and the requirements of funders.
  1. Helping in the delivery and development of Youth work programmes and services, in close collaboration with volunteer helpers.
  1. Help to undertake admin tasks including keeping a programme log, and other session based admin.
  1. Work with allocated resources to ensure that activities are provided in a cost effective, appropriate way.
  1. Help to monitor and evaluate projects with young people and staff, providing reports as required to the management, and funders.
  1. Help to ensure that all Safeguarding requirements are being met, and guidelines followed.

NOTE: The above is not an exhaustive list of duties and you will be expected to carry out any other duties as agreed with the Line Manager and / or management.

LOCATION

The post is based at Zac’s youth bars and any venue carrying out activities (schools, local youth centres)
