Key Responsibilities for Time Clock Employees
As an employee within a department using the time clock, you are responsible to accurately punch in/out at the beginning and the end of your shift as close as possible to your scheduled shift start and end times.
- If you miss punching in for a shift, use the Timesheet (Manual Entries) function to add your OUT time directly below your punch IN.
- If you miss punching In and Out for a shift, use the Timesheet (Manual Entries) to manually add both the In and Out times
- If you need to add additional time, use time Timesheet (Manual Entries) function to access Add Additional Shift to add additional shifts worked.
- Every time you punch in/out or submit hours, your supervisor will see them for approval. Hours can be entered and submitted numerous times in a pay period.
All employees with an active hourly job will have a timesheet available in PAWS:
- Navigate to
- Enter your NSID and password
- Click Employeeto the left and select My Employment
- ClickTime Reporting to the right
Time Summary
You will seea list of your timesheets with the following columns:
- View/Edit- opens the timesheet to view/edit your time
- From Date -start date of the pay period
- To Date -end date of the pay period
- Time Type -type of timeentered
- Time Reported - number of hours reported in the pay period
- Hours Earned – the hours accrued for the month (CUPE 1975 employees will see EDO and Sick in addition to vacation).
- Balance – the current accruals balance. This amount includes the hours accrual for the current month less any hours reported to the end of the current month. (CUPE 1975 employees will see EDO and Sick in addition to vacation).

Timesheet Detail
If you have multiple jobs, pay close attention to the following information at the top of the timesheet prior to entering your time:
Punch In at the beginning of your shift and Punch Out at the end. If you need to make modifications click Go to Timesheet (Manual Entries) and addcomments with your edits. Click to submit your hours to your supervisor. Click to return to the main page.
*If your hours worked exceed the regular work hours defined for your job, overtime hours will automatically be calculated. You are not able to edit overtime hours. If the hours you entered are incorrect contact your supervisor or add a comment to the timesheet denoting the error.
