Step 1 - Obtaining California DMV Driver Education Certificate
After purchasing your Driver Ed in a Box® Full course version you will find a registration form in the box. Fill the form out and return to Driver Ed in a Box®. You are now both registered with Driver Ed in a Box® and enrolled in the California Extension Corporation correspondenceschool. After completing the classroomphase of the course, mail fax or email your completed tests as per instructions and receive your California DMV DriverEducation.You are now ready to get your permit.
Step 2–Obtaining Your Permit
Take your written test at your local DMV field officeto receive your provisional permit. The first section of your classroom phase of Driver Ed in a Box® will prepare you for the test. We recommend you down load your California Driver Handbook at
You will be able to browse through the handbook and pick up any California specific traffic laws.
Step 3–Enroll in a Commercial Driving School
You must enroll in a CommercialDrivingSchool for a 6 hour behind the wheel course. At the end of the first lesson your driving instructor will sign your permit allowing you to begin your behind the wheel training with your parents.
(Your permit is not valid until you are enrolled in a Behind-The-Wheel
6 hour course with a commercial driving school or you are
17 ½ years old).
Step 4- 50 hours of supervised practice
The Behind the Wheel portion of the Driver Ed in a Box®full course gives you the tools to use the 50 hours of supervised practice, as required by California law, to develop structured practice sessions (log sheets, instructional videos and coaching tips on audio CD). The results are skilled collision free drivers with both parent and teen gaining the confidence of knowing the new teen driver is ready for the road.

Step 1 - Obtaining Driver Ed Certificate of Completion
After purchasing your Driver Ed in a Box® Full course version you will find a registration form in the box. Fill the form out and return to Driver Ed in a Box®. You are now registered with Driver Ed in a Box®. Driver Ed in a Box® will mail you an enrollment form enrolling you in BeeSafeDrivingSchool. After completing the form and mailing it to BeeSafeDrivingSchool you will be sent an Affidavit of Liability and Guardianship and a completed Affidavit of Enrollmentin Driver Education.
Step 2 – Obtaining your permit
DRIVER EDUCATION PERMIT–
15 years to 15 years, 6 months
• Must present a completed Affidavit of Liability and
Guardianship and a completed Affidavit of Enrollment
in Driver Education.
Step 3 – Complete Driver Ed in a Box®
• At the completion of course mail Affidavit of Instruction along with completed section test to Driver Ed in a Box®. Students passing section test will receive Certificate of Completion.
• Applicants in this age category must hold an
Instruction Permit for at least 6 months and be at least
16 years of age before obtaining a Driver License.
