- Auditor-Controller has 45 days from receipt of information from Assessor to calculate the property taxes apportioned to each taxing entity in the proposal area and determine which are subject to the exchange of property taxes as a result of the proposed governmental change. The Auditor then reports this information to the CountyAdministrator and to all taxing entities within the proposed area.

- If tax exchange agreement is needed, upon receiving tax sharing information from the Auditor-Controller, schedules time and place to negotiate tax exchange and invites all agencies whose property tax may be affected (reapportioned). Following this meeting, The Board of Supervisors and necessary agencies (County, City, District) governing body adopts resolution ordering exchange of property taxes and notifies LAFCO staff with a copy of BOS resolution.
