- Industry work placements
Described as a ‘web-based human resource site’ it was felt that this would be likely to duplicate existing services such as AquaNIC, Aquaculture recruitment, Pisces and others. Therefore it was agreed to adjust the delivery and rather orient it towards providing guidelines for industry on how to organise and benefit from work placements. Examples of good practices in the form of testimonies (short video interviews) would be envisaged.
- Facilitating lifelong learning in industry
Although the relevance of this deliverable is acknowledged, meaningful activities to achieve it were not readily identified. Since it was described as ‘Information available on website’ it was agreed to maximise the availability of existing or future output in a format that is attractive and comprehensible to industry stakeholders. In this context the support of the external ‘coach’ would be integrated, namely for developing a procedure and assisting WP members to ‘upgrade’ a selection of traditional deliverables to ‘flagship deliverables’.
The WP coordinator it to make a first suggested list of potential flagship deliverables based on assumed relevance to stakeholders. This list will be presented to WP leaders, the think tank and stakeholder representatives (EATIP secretariat) for modification and/or approval. Then the external coach will be invited to start working on the selected deliverables in collaboration with the WP leaders involved.
- Research opportunities for students
An attempt will be made to establish an online database on potential research opportunities. A web-based query among research institutes seems the most obvious approach but due to the overkill of online queries, the expected success rate can be questioned.
