7th Grade Journals

2. Where and when would you go if you had a chance to take one trip in a time machine? Write a diary entry about your travels and experience.

4. You are the carrot that has been used to create a snowman’s nose. Describe 3 days in your vegetable life. The first day is the day being the day you were chosen and the next two days, the snowman is slowly melting.

5. List 3 creative and unique reasons why Mrs. Nelson, your next-door neighbor has had her couch moved out onto the sidewalk.
6. Pretend you are a celebrity’s purse or wallet. Write a diary entry about a day in your life. (5-7 sentences)
7. Write about the day you had to wear a flower pot on your head all day. Describe how your day went? (5-7 sentences)
8. There is a very bright, strange beam of light outside your home. Write 5 explanations for the sight.
9. You have been given a strange box. It seems to be humming. Tell what it is and what it does when you open it. Be Creative!!!
10. You have invented a new kind of sled that slides on grass. Write a jingle that will help you sell your sled. Jingle: a short, catchy song that is 4 to 8 lines long that rhymes—written like a poem.
11. Write a creative explanation why there is a two-karat diamond ring in a glass of water by your bed.

12. You notice that your neighbor has shaved all the fur off of his cat. Come up with 3 creative reasons why he may have done this.
13. Write 3 creative and unique excuses for drawing green tattoos all over your skin with a permanent green marker.
14. Your friend who is famous for making up outrageous excuses wants to know why you are late for lunch. Think of an excuse that will out do the wild excuses your friend has come up with in the past. (4-5 sentences)
15. One morning when you leave for school, you notice that all your parents’ roses have been cut off the plants. Write 3 creative explanations for this.
16. Pretend you are a skunk. Write a diary entry describing a day in your life. (5-7 sentences)
17. You find a secret door in the attic of your house. You open it and find…describe what you find. (5-7 sentences)
18. Write 3 creative reasons why you see 3 penguins walking down the street in July.
19. Create a journal for the whole drama class. Allow the students to be creative when answering.
20. Write 4-6 lines of dialogue between two animals at the zoo. They are having the conversation after everyone has gone for the day. (You could write how their day went, an event of the day, etc.)
21. You are a dog without a home and you are lost in down town Atlanta. Write a diary entry about a day in your life.
22. You are walking in the woods and you see something fly through the trees and it wasn’t a bird or a plane. Think of three creative and unique explanations for this sight.

25. You have gotten and paid for a pizza from “Pizza King” for a few of your friends. When you open the box, you are all shocked. Describe what was in the box.
26. You are going to start a fashion trend that you would like other students to imitate. Write a short diary describing the day you wore that attire for the first time.
27. Write a commercial for electric roller skates. Think of some special sound effects to catch people’s attention.
28. You have just discovered another planet in which humans can live. Describe the planet and what you wish life would be like on that planet.

34. You are an NFL football being used in a Super Bowl game. Write about a day in your life. (5-7 sentences)
35. Write 1 title and a story starter for a story about giant snails as big as cars that are now living in the sewers. **A story starter is the 1st three to four sentences of a story that will make us want to read more!
36. Every time you lift the lid off the container, the butter or margarine inside the container takes on a new shape. What is one of the shapes and give a creative explanation for the shape. (Ex: triangle: because the margarine is in love with the swiss cheese.)
37. Pretend you are a trout (a fish) that lives in a polluted lake. Write a diary describing your life. (5-7 sentences)
38. You are an oreo cookie. Write a protest letter to the public convincing them not to eat the middle before the cookie part. (5-7 sentence/write in letter format.
39. Pretend the US has been taken over by another planet or country and you are in the hold of a slave ship. Describe how you feel and describe what you see and hear. Can be serious or funny. (5-7 sentences)
40. Pretend you are a shooting star. Write a diary entry describing your trip down to earth.
