OPEN EVENTS
The open events are 400m IM and 400m, 800m, 1500m Freestyle
These are open to all swimmers age 9 and older.
AGE GROUP EVENTS
The Age Group Eventsare50m/100m/200m in all four strokes, 100m/200m IM
The Age Group Categories are:
- Juniors: 8 and under, 9, 10, 11;
- Seniors: 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 and over.
9 year olds and over are permitted to enter all the events. 8 year olds and under are only permitted to enter the 50m events and the 100m IM.
The swimmer’s age is determined by their age on the last day of the championships (i.e. 14th July 2018).
FAMILY RELAY
4 x 25m Freestyle. Family Relay Teams may be made up from one or two families. At least one adult must be in the team.

Any alterations will be confirmed prior to the event by email and on the website.
Squadtraining will not take place at Chalfont during the event dates listed above.
AWARDS
OPEN EVENTS
- Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals will be awarded to the fastest three Junior and Senior boys and girls in each event.
- Cups will be awarded to the overall fastest boy and girl in each event.
- Points will be awarded to the fastest three Junior and Senior boys and girls in each event; 3 points to first place, 2 to second and 1 to third.
AGE GROUP EVENTS
- Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals will be awarded in each event for the fastest three boys and girls in each age group, up to and including age 14.
- Junior Cups will be awarded to the fastest Junior Girl and Boy in each event.
- Senior Cups will be awarded to the fastest Senior Girl and Boy in each event.
- Points will be awarded to the fastest three boys and girls in each event for each year group; 3 points to first place, 2 points to second and 1 point for third.
TROPHIES
- Trophies will be awarded to the Boy and Girl with the most points scored in the Junior and Senior categories.
- A trophywill also be awarded to the swimmer over the age of 18 with the most points scored.
CHAMPIONSHIPS RULES
Affiliation: Chalfont Otters Swimming Club are affiliated to ASA South East Regions. The meets are licensed at ASA Level 4 and have been allocated the following licence numbers:

Laws: This event is run under A.S.A. Laws and any infringement of these Laws will lead to disqualification. The decision of the referee is final.
Admission: Swimmers who fail to register for their event at the advertised time will be excluded from that event.
Entry Fees / Refunds: There is a £15entry fee for swimmers age 8 and under and £25 for swimmers age 9 and over. Fees will be collected using GoCardless. We regret that we are unable to grant refunds for applications once entries have been accepted.
Safety: Everyone attending the event must familiarise themselves with the location of the emergency exits, which must be kept clear at all times. Everyone is asked to observe all normal precautions in the pool area and when moving around.
Swimmers must not leave poolside unless they are wearing clothes and shoes having dried themselves.
Behaviour: The Chalfont Otters SC Committee and the pool management reserve the right to remove any person from the pool area, whose behaviour is either against the pool rules or the efficient running of the meet.
Security: Persons are requested not to leave their belongings unattended and to ensure valuables are placed in a locked locker or kept with someone for safekeeping
Mobile Telephones: It is a condition of entry that swimmers consent to any photography taking place. We request that mobile telephones are switched on to silent during the competition and that there is no flash photography at the start of each race.
