·  Please note our Insurers have advised that there is a need to ensure that certain roles within the club do not crossover, for example; Coach/Teacher and Club/Child Protection Officer, Treasurer and Chairman. These posts within a club should be held by different individuals to avoid a conflict of interest.

Scottish Swimming Club Affiliation Guidelines

To affiliate a ‘new club’ to Scottish Swimming, certain criteria need to be met and supporting documentation completed and submitted to the District Secretary.

All Scottish Swimming affiliated clubs are supported by district Regional Swimming Development Managers (RSDMs). If you have any queries or require further information on setting up a new club, please contact the RSDM in your district:

Affiliation Fees

There are two fee payments required as part of affiliating to Scottish Swimming:

1.  £20.00 affiliation fee payable to Scottish Swimming.

2.  District fee, on application, payable to the District.

Affiliation Documents

To complete the affiliation process, the following documentation is to be downloaded, completed and submitted to the District Secretary in your area. All club constitution information can be downloaded from www.scottishswimming.com.

1.  Club Affiliation form.

2.  A new Club Constitution based on the Scottish Swimming Club ‘Model’ guidelines.

On completion of the Club Affiliation form and Club Constitution, please submit along with the £20.00 affiliation fee and district fee, to the District Secretary in your area. On receipt of the affiliation application, the application will be reviewed and confirmed at the next District meeting. The District will notify the Scottish Swimming office of the new club affiliation.

On completion of the new club affiliation, Scottish Swimming will post to the affiliated club the following information:

·  Club Code

·  2013/2014 Information Guide & Governance documentation

·  Club Insurance Certificate and information

·  Membership information pack
