Job Posting Processes and Procedures

  • Send your job lead in MS Word basic text format to Kathy McAuliffe, Employer Liaison, at: .
  • When we post a job lead for you, it is at no charge. We put your lead into our own format showing the workNet DuPageCareerCenter logo.In the instructions for job-seekers to apply, we normally include a note that they should copy on their submittal to you. This is because, being federally funded, we need to track activities as well as possible. Also, there is no charge if you hire someone from a posting we did for you.
  • We will post the lead on the physical bulletin board here at workNet DuPageCareerCenter, and in the Employment Opportunities binders here -- both of which are in the center’s Resource Room for job-seekers. The job lead will stay on the board for about a month, but will stay in the binders until we hear from you that it has been filled. In addition, we will post the lead on our website: . That site also links to the state workNet website, thus increasing your job lead’s potential exposure to Illinois job-seekers.
  • The counselors and trainers at workNet DuPageCareerCenter refer to the website when seeking job ideas for their clients. We also have many associates around DuPageCounty who refer to our website while helping job-seekers. These associates include job clubs, educational and training institutions, the DuPage County Department of Community Services and various human services organizations. We also send out monthly reminders to those associates, to refer to the website for active job leads at local employers. Also, depending on the type of job lead you send, we might send the actual lead out to some of those contacts directly and ask if they know anyone who might be interested.
  • If a company falls into the list of Illinois High Growth Industries as specified by Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, we will post that company’s lead on the state’s website for workNet information. The named High Growth Industries are:

Agriculture,

Healthcare

Information Technology,

Manufacturing and

Transportation, Distribution and Logistics (TDL).

  • After we post your lead, you might hear from Ms. Becky White, Business Development Manager for PAEP (Parents Alliance Employment Project.) PAEP is one of our partner agencies here at workNet DuPage. PAEP works to find employment for people with disabilities and to help employers realize the benefits of hiring from that pool of excellent workers. Becky is a member of our Business Services team. She would provide you some very helpful information to aid you in your overall hiring efforts.

If Ms. McAuliffe doesn’t hear from you after a job lead has run about sixty days, you will receive a status call from her.

Always feel free to send us any leads you have. We are happy to share them with DuPage area job-seekers and those who work with them.

P.S. On a related note, FYI: Please check out for extensive links to resources regarding recruiting, training and business development.
