The application form (Part 1) should only be used for postgraduate courses, where entry with credit is required (APL/APEL) or privately-funded non-degree courses. For all other undergraduate, foundation and degree courses, please apply through UCAS (www.ucas.ac.uk).
Please complete all sections of the form in black ink or type in BLOCK CAPITALS. If you enclose additional paper for any section, please put your full name on each sheet. We aim to be able to make decisions on applications within two weeks of receipt of all required paperwork as follows:
All applicants
· Application form with all sections completed (Part 1).
· Copies of transcripts for all previous study.
Please note that if the language of the transcript is not English, we will require certified translations.
· At least two academic references (Part 2).
Please note that it is the applicant’s responsibility to request references. It is helpful for references to be included with your application form. However, if this is not practical, they can be sent directly to the Admissions Office at the address below, ensuring that the applicant’s name is clearly marked in full.
International applicants and those for whom English is not the first language
We also require:
· Either a recognised English language test score, such as IELTS, with a minimum pass of 6 for undergraduate, 6.5 for postgraduate taught, and 7.5 for research degrees.
· Or documentary evidence to demonstrate that your education or employment is conducted in the English language. (Evidence can be in the form of a statement from your academic referee or employer, or details from the school or college website/published literature).
International students requiring Visas
Please note that, should your application meet the RAU academic requirements, we will then also require copies of your passport and information about any previous UK visas you may have held. In order to obtain your visa, we will request 50% of your fees to be paid in advance together with proof of your ability to fund your course in the form of bank statements or a sponsor’s letter.
The RAU will assist in anyway it can to ensure the visa process is as smooth as possible. We have a dedicated visa consultant available to assist you free of charge. We strongly recommend you use this resource.
