JOB DESCRIPTION

LUNCH TIME SUPERVISOR

Hours of work: 1 ½ - 2 hours per day (paid for 2 hours)

The lunchtime supervisor will be appointed by and be responsible to the Head of Nursery & Infants/Juniors.

Authority

The lunchtime supervisor will have no responsibility or authority over any other staff.

Liaison

The need for confidentiality is very important and must always be carefully considered.

No liaison with external bodies is authorised; any enquiries from parents or other persons, except of the most general nature, should be referred to the Head of Nursery & Infants/Juniors.

KEY TASKS:

Main duties will include:

1)Working with children.

a)Supervise toileting and hand washing.

b)Encourage children to eat quietly with good table manners.

c)Take children out to play and supervise play.

d)Encourage good behaviour and reward with stickers.

e)Bring children in after playtime and encourage them to sit quietly.

f)Report any accidents to the member of staff on duty.

g)Report any concerns regarding behaviour to the member of staff on duty.

h)Undertake any other duties that may be agreed from time to time with the Head of Nursery & Infants/Juniors.

2)Not directly with children.

a)Clean tables after lunch.

b)Undertake any other duties that may be agreed from time to time with the Head of Nursery & Infants/ Juniors.

3)Health & Safety

a)Read and comply with the employers Health and Safety Policy for both their own protection and for all other employees, pupils and visitors on site.

b)If suitably qualified, act as a first aider.

4)General

a)Any other duties as required from time to time by the Head of Nursery & Infants/Juniors.

5)Child Protection

Evidence of some childcare training. / C
Experience: / Previous experience of working with children. / Previous experience of supervising children at lunchtimes in a nursery/school environment. / A/I/R
