JOB TITLE: Sales Consultant
REPORTS TO: Sales Manager
JOB PURPOSE OR FUNCTION: (Objectives of position)
· Sell new and pre-owned vehicles
· Contact between New Vehicle Sales Department and customer
RESPONSIBILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS: (Detailed list of job tasks and performance expectations including financial, volume, contact, customer satisfaction and quality objectives)
Sales
· Sell a minimum volume of 8 new or pre-owned vehicles per month
· Maintain an average gross profit according to dealership requirements
· Qualify all buyers for needs, wants and ability to purchase
· Conduct product presentation to each customer focusing on the customer’s purchase motivators and the value the vehicle offers
· Work the sales floor during assigned times
· Sell from dealer stock whenever possible
· Log all customer contact and sales information as required by management
· Make sure all sales documents are properly completed and submitted
Prospecting
· Tell everyone you know that you sell Subaru vehicles
· Obtain at least three appointments from non-Subaru owners each week
· Follow up on all walkout prospects within 24 hours
· Work the Service Drive at least four hours per week and at assigned times, greeting customers and making contacts
· Join local community organizations or associations and attend their meetings and events
· Follow up on assigned Internet leads
Customer Satisfaction
· Greet customers promptly and courteously when they arrive in the showroom if you are the first one to see them
· Smile and say hello to all customers and offer assistance as necessary
· Deliver all sold vehicles based on dealership and SOA guidelines
· Follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction and to obtain referrals and repeat purchases
· Maintain a customer record and follow-up system
· Walk the customer through Service Department and introduce them to the Service Manager and/or Service Writer
· Maintain a Customer Satisfaction score of 80% or higher
Personal
· Establish goals for sales, appointments and demo drives on a weekly basis
· Maintain work area and demo vehicle
· Adhere to the Sales Consultant dress code
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT: (Training and knowledge requirements)
· Maintain Subaru Foundations certification
· Maintain a thorough knowledge of all products, including differences between models and features and benefits
· Keep up-to-date on product changes
· Attend training programs as requested by management
· Shop other Subaru dealers
· Shop the competition regularly to determine competitive vehicle features and determine a strategy to sell against them
