2018 GOOD NEIGHBOR DAYS
QUEEN & COURT APPLICATION
Good Neighbor Days will be held July 19-21, 2018. It will soon be time to select this year’s Queen and her Court. All interested applicants are required to submit an essay (minimum of 250 words – no max) on the topic:
“IMPORTANT LESSON(S) LEARNED FROM MY ELDERS (grandparents, parents, teachers, etc.)”
So, be creative and have fun with it!!
Please do NOTinclude your name in the essay. Submissions should be double spaced, with the applicant’s name ONLY on a separate title page. Essays must be turned in to Susan Moran at Bruceton School by 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 3rd.
SUGGESTION: Please have a teacher or parent assist you with proofreading your essay before submission.
The selection of the Queen and her Court will be decided by a panel of three judges. The judges will review the essays and conduct a short interview with each applicant. Applicant interviews will be held on MONDAY, APRIL 23, 2018 at the BRUCETON FIRE HALL at 7:00 p.m.
The Queen and the Maid of Honor will be chosen from applicants who are presently in the 9th, 10th, or 11th grades. Two princesses will be selected from applicants currently in the 6th, 7thor 8th grades. Applicants must be from the Bruceton-Brandonville Volunteer Fire Department service area.
The following requirements must be met by all applicants:
- Participants MUST have an overall minimum 2.5 grade point average.
- Participants MUST be available for practices, parades appearances scheduled by the Fire Department.
- Participants MUST not be currently on the Buckwheat Festival court.
- Participants MUST be in Grades 7-12 next school year (2018-2019).
The application below and essay must be returned in no later than TUESDAY, April 3rd to Susan Moran at Bruceton School.
