Principal’s Update

10-Day Count Update:

-617 students

-Based on low student count our school lost a K and a para-pro position

-Gained a first grade teacher because of high student count

-Received an additional parent liaison

-Earned another ½ position; the parent liaison was able to become full-time

Strategic Plan Update

NELC Cross Council Meeting:

-Seed Fund is being released on Monday

-Added a rule so we can carry over for a year

-Changed layout of Strategic Plan

-Chair gained ideas from other clusters (Northwood and Esther Jackson)

-Another meeting on 9/28/17

-Student Achievement Meeting 10/19/17 from 10:00-4:00 must include principal, SGC chair, teacher (maybe Ginny Long could attend)

-Defer that motion

-People and Culture Communications Committee Meeting on 11/15/17 from 1:30-4:00; Griffin and Gardner will attend at the Alpharetta Public Library

- Fiscal Responsibility Finance Committee Meeting on 1/24/17 from 1:30-4:00 at the Milton Public Library; Pinnock, Garner, and Nelson

RFF and Seed Fund Updates

-Full release days 9/18/17-9/19/17

-Lucy Caulkins Training to improve literacy and writing.

-Positive feedback from teachers

-Teacher learned how to effectively implement strategies in Writing and Readers’ Workshop

-Need to order the Anchor Books for K-5

Fulton Schools Strategic Support Model

-We are a flexible school; past scores were 87.5, 88.7, 88.0.

-We will receive a specific amount of money from the state. Must tie initiatives to how money is used. Can roll money over to the next school year if not completely used.

-Use these funds to help with school performance

-We get to make choices about how money is used. That will replace the previous SEED fund. 2022 (5 year plan) Strategic Plan is due in February.
