General Syllabus


A. Course Description: Graphics – ARTC 1402 081162S– Digital Imaging I. Four hours credit. Digital imaging using raster image editing and/or image creation software: scanning, resolution, file formats, output devices, color systems, and image-acquisitions. Two lecture and four lab hours each week. Prerequisite: COMM 1318. Lab fee. Note: A grade of B or better is required in this class to enroll in IMED 2266 Practicum (or Field Experience).

2.  Attendance – Attendance is required as per Angelina College Policy and will be recorded every day. Any student with three (3) consecutive absences of four (4) cumulative absences may be dropped from the class. Records will be turned in to the academic dean at the end of the semester. Do not assume that non-attendance in class will always result in an instructor drop. You must officially drop a class or risk receiving an F. This is official Angelina College Policy.

Project 1: Product Shoot - Due Jan 31, 2017

Project 2: Food Styling and food Photography Shoot – Due Feb 17, 2017

Project 3: Fashion Shoot – Due March 23, 2017

Project 4: Portrait Shoot – Due April 6, 2017

Project 5: Architectural Shoot – Due April 18, 2017

Project 6: Film shoot – Due May 2, 2017

Final project: Students will rework one previous project and provide a written evaluation.


All assignments will be graded through class critiques. Work not meeting standards of B or better will not be accepted and must be reworked.

The instructor may modify the provisions of the syllabus to meet individual class needs by informing the class in advance as to the changes being made.
