Outline of Duties
Hardens parts in repetitive heat-treat operations using varied furnace4s and equipment using established procedures and specifications. Helps to develop new procedures. Tests hardness using various equipment. Draws/tempers parts in various furnaces using written procedures, data/tables and past experience. Helps with various temperature checks of equipment and such as calibration and uniformity. Documents all results using paper recorders and computer software. Performs some maintenance, including but not limited to things, such as painting hearths. Works with maintenance on other repairs to equipment, including but not limited to, replacing tubes and/or fans. Works alone or with a helper.
