Dear Sir/Madam
Re: YOUR REQUEST FOR INFORMATION
Thank you for your request for information dated 16th September 2011. You have requested:
1)How many social workers employed or contracted to the LA are not properly registered with the GSCC as working in the LA’s own area?
2)What is the policy for addressing the issue of social workers not being properly registered.
I am pleased to advise that the Council can provide the information that you have requested.
1)How many social workers employed or contracted to the LA who are not properly registered with the GSCC as working in the LA’s own area?
All our social workers are registered with the GSCC although there are 9 social workers where location states not applicable and 16 social workers that have not yet had their location updated on the register.
2)What is the policy for addressing the issue of social workers not being properly registered?
GSCC audits are undertaken on an annual basis for all social workers. The Assistant Executive Directors for the relevant social worker teams are notified of the results and social workers are given 2 weeks to discuss the changes needed with the GSCC and the audit is re-run. Social Workers that fail to respond to the instruction without a satisfactory explanation for such a failure, will be transferred into a non social worker post until registration is fully confirmed.
