Back to School Night
Special Reminder!!School will begin Monday, August 18th.
Our hours will be 8:15 am - 11:35 am until Wednesday September 3rd, when school will dismiss at 1:30pm.
Please have your child bring a healthy snack and a drink each day!
Hours 8:15am – 1:30pm: Children should arrive at school no earlier than 8:00 am because there is no supervision until that time. For the first two weeks, you may walk your child directly to class. After that time, they will need to come directly to class on their own. For safety reasons, please be aware, the driveway is reserved for buses and daycare vans only. The Sheriff’s Department will cite other vehicles. Parking is NOT permitted in any of the staff parking lots. Please remember, ALL Tuesdays and other special minimum days start at 8:15 and end at 11:35. Your child will need to bring a snack on minimum days.
Pick-up: Please pick-up your child on time. We know that on occasion things come up. If this happens, contact the office and they will let us know. Children get very anxious when mommies and daddies are late. If you are sending someone else to pickup your child, please send a note or call the office to let us know. Please also make sure to indicate their name on your child’s emergency card. No one will be able to pick up your child if his or her name is not on the student’s emergency card. Every child must wait to be dismissed by their teacher before leaving. This too is for your child’s safety. If you need to speak to your child's teacher after school, please wait until all the children have been safely sent off.
Please use crosswalks at drop-off and dismissal times, for safety and to set an example to your child.
Absences: Please keep your child home if he/she is sick. Little ones tend to pass their germs quickly. If your child has a fever, it isrecommended that you keep him/her home at least 24 hours after the fever is broken. Please call the school office in the morning to let them know your child will not be at school. The Vejar number is 909 594 1434 (x38161).
Snacks: A snack break is scheduled during recess time every day. We encourage the snack to be reasonable in size, and healthy. Juice or a piece of fruit is ideal. Please do not send glass bottles or cans of soda for a snack. Please do not send candy. Label all lunch boxes and bags!
Lunch: Hot lunch will be available for purchase. The cost is $2.75 for lunch. Milk is available on its ownfor $0.35. Lunch menus can be viewed online on our school website. You may also set up a lunch account for your child. Children may also bring a lunch from home. Please remember to complete and return the free lunch application form as soon as possible.
*Health Concerns: Please let the office and your child’s teacher know if your child has any food allergies or other types of allergies.
Clothing:Dressyour child in comfortable play clothes and closed toed shoes. There are many opportunities to play, paint, and make a mess and we don’t want a special outfit to be ruined. All coats, book-bags, backpacks, and lunch boxes should be labeled on the inside with your child’s name.
Volunteers: We can use parent and grandparent helpers!!!
•We need Room Parents – they plan and help at our parties and celebrations.
•We need classroom helpers – for setting up Ezyups, for center time, library time, for special projects, and for things that can be done at home.
•We will need volunteers for field trips too!
To ensure the continued safety of our students, our district requires all volunteers to complete a "Volunteer Assistance Application". You can return this application in the white business envelope. When you volunteer at school, please go through the office, sign-in, and get a volunteer sticker.
