Position: Team Recruitment Manager (Full Time Contractor Position)
Reports to: Vice President of Development- Law Enforcement Torch Run

Summary
The Team Recruitment Manager is responsible for advancing Special Olympics Oregon’s mission through the planning, management and implementation of the Polar Plunge team-recruitment campaign in collaboration with internal and external partners. This includes ensuring that revenue goals are achieved for the Polar Plunge team and effectively engaging volunteers and staff across opportunities. This person will research, contact, recruit and retain Polar Plunge teams (corporate, family, civic, club and community) with a long-term relationship in mind.
Primary responsibility is Portland; secondary is outer markets to include Bend, Medford, Eugene and Corvallis.
Major Responsibilities:
1. Identifies, cultivates, solicits and manages new and existing Polar Plunge teams, as well as corporate and community involvement. This includes developing profiles on businesses with a documented plan to secure involvement as well as developing a plan for working with that team for the short and long term.
2. Recruits and manages volunteer pyramid as a strategy for outreach and recruitment. This will involve recruiting and working with high-level stakeholders.
3. Works closely with Special Olympics Oregon Local Programs and other community leaders to support campaign on a sustained basis.
4. Plans, manages, implements and evaluates events and activities surrounding building teams and fundraising.
5. Manages participating companies to ensure they reach fundraising goals for Polar Plunge. This position is directly accountable for achieving revenue goals.
6. Develops strategy, manages and executes on communication with Polar Plunge teams and team captains.
7. Develops and implements year-round pipelines and cultivation plans for corporate accounts, ensuring sufficient depth for revenue generation and excellent customer relations.
8. Supports collaboration across staff in the office and partners across Special Olympics Oregon towards achieving established goals and outcomes.
9. Maintains timely communication with the CEO, entire SOOR staff and internal and external customers.
10. Manages Sphere/Kintera (The Raiser’s Edge Product) database and website.
11. Produces weekly reports on status of team recruitment.
12. Manages and implements event registration, pre registration activities, pre check-in and onsite event check-in.
13. Manages and coordinates distribution of event collateral with key partners.
14. Assists in creating, managing and executes social media campaign as it pertains to Polar Plunge teams.
15. Drives e-newsletter and marketing collateral strategy, timeline and schedule.
16. Other duties as assigned.
Successful applicants must excel in a sales role and be able to demonstrate relationship building experience. Must be energetic, dependable, outgoing and comfortable talking to interested people about the event. Must have a car and be good at managing time and tasks on your own, should be proficient with Microsoft Office. Must be able to lift at least 20 pounds.
Basic Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
2. 2-3 years successful experience in fundraising, sales or marketing.
3. Demonstrated ability to sell.
4. Demonstrated ability to recruit, train, and manage volunteers.
5. Ability to delegate and accomplish goals through volunteers.
6. Ability and willingness to travel and to work evenings and weekends on occasion.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Experience working with Kintera or another “friends asking friends” fundraising software.
2. Knowledge of Special Olympics Oregon mission and programs.
3. Knowledge of corporate & community networks in the Portland/Southwest Washington area.
