Boys and girls! How is everyone? How’s your day been so far? Good I hope. Say, I don’t want to get too personal but do you like to take a bath? I mean, when it’s bath time, what do you do? Do you run from your parents screaming “I don’t want a bath!” or do you look forward to playing in the water? Well, whatever you do, our story today is all about baths. In fact, it’s called ‘Wishy-Washy day’. Look at the cover of your book and tell me what you see. A woman, carrying a bucket of water? Yes, that’s right. What is she holding in her other hand? A scrub brush. Right again. Now, in a few moments, a storyteller will begin reading our book for today. We’ll begin right here on the cover and I want you to follow along with the storyteller looking at the words and pictures, turning the page each time you hear this sound. [Diling doong]. So, without any further waiting, let’s begin ‘Wishy-Washy day’.

Hahahaha! What a funny story boys and girls. The only one who got a bath was Mrs.Wishy-Washy and the animals must have thought that was very funny. I wonder which one of the animals was the dirtiest. The cow, the dog, the duck, or the pig? I don’t have any way of knowing but my guess would be the cow because cows are always outside. What would be your guess girls and boys? Maybe we can get a few more hints if we read the story again. This time, let’s add some music and sound effects to make the story more entertaining. As the story is being performed for you, I want you to follow along very closely. Reading as many of the words as you can. Remember. Turn the page each time you hear this sound. [Diling doong]. Also this time, we’ll begin from the title page of your book, which is the page right inside of the front cover. You’ll see a picture of Mrs.Wishy-Washy reaching into a tub. Now, from the title page, let’s begin.

Great job of reading everyone! Were you able to keep up with our storyteller and turn the pages with our signal? Good. Now we are going to get ready and read the story one more time. Only this time, I want you to participate in our story even more. Here’s how you will do it. Do you remember the special sound effects you’ve heard in the story? It was the sound of a scrub brush, scrubbing. It sounded like this. And it happens many times in our story. In fact, it happens on nearly every page. Anyway, whenever you hear this sound, I want you to say “Wishy-Washy, Wishy-Washy” and move your hand like you’re washing an animal with a scrub brush. You know what I mean. Move your hand back and forth, like you’re washing something as you say “Wishy-Washy, Wishy-Washy”. On the page 2 in your book, I’ll show you what I mean. All right! Everyone is on page 2. Here’s what you’ll hear.
“It’s Wishy-Washy day,” said Mrs.Wishy-Washy. And you’ll say “Wishy-Washy, Wishy-Washy” and move your hand like you’re scrubbing something. Understand? Good. This will be fun. Now, turn back to the title page and we’ll begin.

Ah~ Fine job everyone! I feel so much cleaner. Now, what do you say we sit back, relax, and listen to a song.

[Song]
It’s a Wishy-Washy day
said Mrs.Wishy-Washy
Into the tub for a scrub you go
Oh, the cow hid in the garden
The dog hid in the shed
The duck hid in the closet
Cause they all know
It’s a Wishy-Washy day
That scares them all away
They’d rather not get wet
They’d rather run and play
It’s a Wishy-Washy day
That’s why they run away
No one wants a bath on this funny sunny day
It’s a Wishy-Washy day
said Mrs.Wishy-Washy
Into the tub for a scrub let’s go
Oh, the cow hid in the garden
The dog hid in the shed
They all know what’s coming
Cause she told them so
It’s a Wishy-Washy day
Now don’t you run away
Come hop into this tub
For a nice warm scrub a dub
What a Wishy-Washy day
Scares them all away
They’d rather not get wet
They’d rather run and play
Then Mrs.Wishy-Washy slept and fell
Into her tub and she gave a yell
Wishy-Washy , Wishy-Washy
Oh my!
It’s a Wishy-Washy day
said Mrs.Wishy-Washy
But into the tub
I’ve gone instead
Oh, the cow came from the garden
The dog came from the shed
The pig came from the bed
When Mrs.Wishy-Washy said
This Wishy-Washy day
Just didn’t go my way
There will be no bath today
No one needs to run away
This Wishy-Washy day
Just didn’t go my way
There’s no need to run
Just go and have your fun
It’s a Wishy-Washy day
It’s a Wishy-Washy day
It’s a Wishy-Washy day
