GHS Baseball Booster Club 2015 Information

Because the Alachua County School Board provides only the most basic funding for athletics, we as GHS Baseball parents devote a substantial portion of our time and energy each year to organize fundraisers and raise funds to pay for facilities improvements, as well as ongoing expenses such as uniforms, equipment, field maintenance and transportation.

GHS BASEBALL DUES: Each family is asked to contribute booster club dues, to be collected at theJanuary parent meeting. We are giving you all this information at the beginning of the school year in order for everyone to be informed and prepared to pay their fees in Jan. 2015. As you see below, several fundraisers are available throughout the year to help you cover these expenses.

  • FALL FEES: $300 Coach will discuss details
  • SPRING FEES: VARSITY $ 700 (includes Spring Break Tournament-away)

JV $ 550

  • Included in these fees: hat, practice t-shirts, baseball shorts, hitting jacket, belt, socks and coaches fees
  • We will have an Order Form if Parents want to order additional gear for players -- payment will be required at the time your order is placed.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

GHS Baseball Boosters has a volunteer opportunity for everyone, regardless of how much or little time, energy or money you have at your disposal. We know from experience that, whether your son is a freshman thru senior, you as a parent will have a much more meaningful GHS Baseball experience if you are involved from the very start.

  • If you chair a fundraiser, it does not mean that you will be working on that fundraiser alone! You will be able to work with other parents who will assist you
  • The more volunteers we have, the more successful our team will be!

FUNDRAISEROPPORTUNITIES:

Below is a list of the fundraising activities for the 2014-2015 school year! In order to reach our goals (i.e. Batting cage,new equipment,spring break travel, etc.) and help defray expenses we all need to pitch in so that our students can continue to do an outstanding job. Fair Share Fundraiser- an amount of money you collect will be deducted from your fees for the season.Marked below!

General Fundraiser - money is used towards all baseball expenses and improvements during year.

  2. NEW: $ 300 ea. /RENEW: $ 200ea. ----- YOU GET $ 150 per banner towards your fees.(Old fees $250/$150)
  3. These are great advertising opportunities for local businesses..
  4. ENJOY THE CITY COUPON BOOKS–FAIR SHARE-Lori McGriff
  5. Sell 5 at $20 ea.--$10 ea. will go towards your account
  6. Beginning in September we will be selling Gainesville coupon books.These books provide the purchaser discounts to restaurants and other establishments.
  7. BASEBALL CONCESSIONS (FALL AND SPRING) –Chair :Jill Monk(Fall) /Kathy Mcnamee (Spring)
  8. We sell concessions at all games played at the GHS Field. In the spring this is primarily for the JV and Sophomore team home games.
  9. PARENT are required to volunteer 3 timesat the gate or concession stand
  10. BEEF O’BRADY’S BREAKFAST (FALL)–Chair: Patti Gordon
  11. Sell 6 tickets ($8ea) for the breakfast and players work the Car Wash.
  12. JAZZ,WINE& BEER TASTING AT EMBER’S GRILL (Feb 8,2015) –

  1. Parents need to sell 4tickets ($45 ea)and help find Sponsors
  1. PLAYER’S LETTERS-10 letters to family & friends --done in school with Coaches

  3. Zaxsby’s,Chipotle’s or other --20% of Night dinner to GHS baseball-Maybe Red Onion
  4. CHICKEN DINNER- Saturday of JV baseball Tournament- head: ______
