Greening Grey Britain / For this year’s Bloom launch, the Royal Horticultural Society is asking groups to get Greening Grey Britain for wildlife. In 2017, the RHS will support a number of groups working with young people to develop wildlife-friendly pockets of green. The charity will provide hands-on support from our expert advisors, as well as up to £500 per project towards plant and material costs. The opportunity is available to all Bloom and It’s Your Neighbourhood groups, as well as gardening clubs affiliated to the RHS.

Margaret Dobson Further Education Trust / The Margaret Dobson Further Education Trust makes grants to registered charities working with young adults with learning disabilities on projects that give them the skills to lead more fulfilled and independent lives. Funding can cover salaries, equipment, printing/marketing and in some circumstances, running costs.
Surviving Winter Grant / The Surviving Winter Grants Programme has been created through the generosity of local donors who have given their Winter Fuel Payment, or made a donation, to help older people in the West of England who need additional support this winter as a result of the cold weather. We welcome applications from small, local voluntary and community organisations to support older and vulnerable people who struggle during the Winter with fuel poverty, loneliness and isolation. Priority will be given to projects supporting those aged 60 and over. You can apply for grants towards your regular services, but we are very keen to also support additional activities that you undertake specifically to help elderly people cope with the cold weather. A 5% ‘administrative’ payment can be claimed to help cover the time and costs of administering grants to individuals.
The Marina Kleinwort Charitable Trust / The Marina Kleinwort Charitable Trust offers grants typically between £1,000 and £5,000 to support arts organisations active in the UK. Match funding is not an essential requirement. Applications may be submitted at any time but must be made in writing and should include a copy of the applicant’s most recent report and financial statements. Funding is not available for individuals or to applicants not connected with the arts. Only successful applicants are notified of the Trust’s decision.

Comic Relief - Tech v Abuse / This is a new £300,000 fund launched by Comic Relief and funded by the Tampon Tax. The Fund is for technological innovation and creative digital solutions to improve the safety of women and girls affected by domestic violence. Grants of between £20,000 and £50,000 are available over a period of one year from August 2017 to August 2018. It is anticipated that up to seven grants will be awarded.

Active Ageing Fund / This is a new £10 million National Lottery grant programme managed by Sport England. Grant awards are expected to range from between £50,000 and £500,000 for projects which support inactive older people (aged 55 years and above) to achieve at least 30 minutes of moderate intensity physical activity per week. Also to build the evidence base about this diverse group in terms of their behaviours/attitudesand find successful approaches which can be scaled up in future years.

Comic Relief – Levelling The Field / This programme offers funding to organisations working in partnership in the UK, which use the power of sport to empower women and girls to reach their full potential. It is a £1 million initiative funded by Comic Relief and the Treasury to support projects across the UK. Applications are welcome for a minimum of £30,000 and a maximum of £250,000, over a period of between 12 and 36 months. A variety of projects are encouraged (eg a pilot for an innovative piece of work or the continued development of a proven piece of work). Funding is available for project delivery, research, or for a campaign.

National Vegetarian Week / If you’re planning an activity or event for National Vegetarian Week (15th – 21st May 2017), the Vegetarian Society may be able to help fund it with a grant of between £200 and £2,000. Grant applications should come from not for profit organisations and be for activities which promote a vegetarian diet to the wider community.
Performing Rights Society Open Fund / This fund supports the development of outstanding songwriters and composers of all genres and backgrounds and at different stages of their career. Support is available to any music creator or not-for-profit organisation whose project fits with the PRS’ funding priorities. The Open Fund is split into two strands – one for organisations and one for music creators.

Postcode Local Trust Grants / The Postcode Local Trust was established in 2015 to provide financial support for charities and good causes which help communities enhance their natural environment in a way that benefits the wider community. In 2017 Postcode Local Trust will fund projects across Great Britain which support wildlife areas, sustainability initiatives, local indoor and outdoor spaces and citizenship (local volunteering projects).

Individual Grants Programme – St John’s Hospital / This programme provides financial assistance to individuals and families during times of crisis and hardship. National Vegetarian Week (15th – 21st May 2017) / Vegetarian Society / / If you’re planning an activity or event for National Vegetarian Week (15th – 21st May 2017), we may be able to help fund it with a small grant of up to £200 or large grant of up to £2,000. Grant applications should come from not for profit organisations and be for activities which promote a vegetarian diet to the wider community.
For National Vegetarian Week 2017 there are two pots of grant money - one for large grants and one for small grants. Each pot is split into two tranches.

The Open Fund / Performing Rights Society / / The Open Fund supports the development of outstanding songwriters and composers of all genres and backgrounds and at different stages of their career. Support is available to any music creator or not-for-profit organisation whose project fits with their funding priorities. The Open Fund is split into two distinct strands: The Open Fund for Organisations which supports new music projects led by promoters, talent development organisations, festivals, venues, curators and large performance groups and The Open Fund for Music Creators which supports projects by songwriters, composers, or artists, bands, producers and performers who are writing their own music or commissioning others. / Deadline: 6th February 2017

The Archer Trust / The Archer Trust / The Secretary, The Archer Trust, Bourne House, Wadesmill, Ware, Herts, SG12 0TT. / The Archer Trust provides funding for small UK charities who support needy or deserving people including those with physical or mental disabilities and the disadvantaged.
Grants vary from £250 to £3,000. They prioritise organisations working in areas of high unemployment/deprivation and favour charities who make good use of volunteers.

Ambition for Excellence / The Arts Council / / Ambition for Excellence is an Arts Council England programme designed to stimulate ambition, talent and excellence across the arts sector in England. The programme aims to:
- Contribute to the development of strong cultural places;
- Grow and develop talent and leadership in the regions and across art forms;
- Give an international dimension to excellent work; and
- Create the highest quality new work including for outdoor and festival contexts.
The Libraries Fund / The Arts Council / / The aim of the Grants for the Arts Libraries Fund is to inspire innovative partnerships between local authority public libraries and arts organisations, and encourage library users and those living locally to take part in artistic and cultural activities.
Applications can be for between £1,000 and £100,000 and may cover activities lasting up to three years. Applications should support arts activities, i.e. time-limited arts projects with their own artistic aims and outcomes. This includes a wide range of arts activities that support, enhance and enrich public libraries’ core work, and develop libraries’ role as a cultural provider in their communities. Activity must be additional to public libraries’ core work. Work that a library service receives funding through the local authority to deliver can't be grant funded through the scheme.
