Reflect on how the activity has contributed to professional practice. Consider whether the learning was linked to your learning objectives. How has it developed your knowledge, skills and values, what aspects of your practice have been reinforced by this learning activity? Use anonymised examples from your practice.
Demonstrate how the learning has benefited your practice. How have your knowledge, skills and values been enhanced, have you identified further gaps in knowledge, skills? How has your practice changed? Use anonymised examples to explain.
NISCC online does not prescribe word counts, your logs can be short and concise or more lengthy and detailed. If a log is too brief it will be difficult to demonstrate reflective social work practice or the implementation of learning to practice.
Use the guidance on the NISCC website / The NISCC website, PiP section, contains examples of good reflective logs and tips on reflective writing. Learning and Development teams within employing organisations may also provide support and guidance.
The key is to use your reflective skills and demonstrate how your practice has improved for service users and carers.

Credits accumulated are verified by the Line Manager / You will indicate this by ticking the relevant box on NISCC online when claiming credits
Currency of learning should be ensured / Learning that has occurred from January 2015 onwards can be logged and used to claim your requirement
You are encouraged to reflect on the difference that your learning has had on your practice, illustrated with anonymised examples from practice. In doing so you should ensure that you maintain confidentiality and seek consent from the service users that you work with. If using direct evidence, a statement must be included in the submission indicating that informed consent has been obtained and that confidentiality was explained to the service user.
