Job Purpose/Summary
To provide all fundraising and administration support for all activities in the fundraising area and to supervise volunteers. To support the facilitation and development of volunteer networks and fundraising groups across their local area
Key relationships
· Regional Fundraising Manager, local/area community fundraising colleagues, regional and other fundraising colleagues across MCCC including corporate and other central teams.
· Area Shop Managers, Area Nurse Managers, Hospice Managers, Nursing Team Managers and other key MCCC staff.
· Other MCCC regional contacts e.g. Marketing/PR, Regional HR etc.
· Volunteers and fundraising groups.
· Supporters.
· External fundraising networks and contacts from other charities.
· Local media.
· Other local community contacts.
Accountabilities (Duties & Responsibilities)
1. Ensuring the delivery of local fundraising plans and activities:
· Responding to enquiries from the public, volunteers, Community Fundraisers and other Marie Curie staff, including following up and resolving enquiries on the telephone, by mail and in person.
· Contributing to the delivery of annual budgets, targets and plans
· Assisting the team to ensure that local fundraising events, activities and collections etc (including outreach collections) run effectively and are well planned, marketed and supported
· Working with colleagues in MCCC, to ensure that nationally and regionally managed events and activities are marketed and supported locally
· Attending local, regional and national fundraising activities and events
· Ensuring that accurate and up to date financial and supporter records are maintained and accessible
· Providing reports and information about activity, performance, supporters, volunteers etc as necessary and upon request
2. Putting the supporter first:
· Working with fundraising groups and supporters in ways that encourage and support people to fundraise for MCCC
· Providing and facilitating supporters with a choice of how they fundraise and work with MCCC
· Responding to enquiries from the public, volunteers, fundraisers etc (by phone, mail and in person) including responding to requests for information and material etc
· Giving talks and presentations to local organisations i.e. schools, rotary clubs, WIs etc, to increase awareness of and support for MCCC activities
3. Developing and managing key relationships inside MCCC:
· Working with key MCCC staff i.e. nursing service staff, hospice staff, shop managers etc to obtain support for and involvement with local fundraising activities
· Assisting with the planning, preparation and marketing of any PR and media requirements.
4. Working with volunteers and colleagues:
· Assisting in the recruitment and supervision of the work of volunteers
· Supporting and developing colleagues and volunteers
5. Administration:
· Working within national MCCC policies, procedures and adhering to legal frameworks
· Cash handling, banking, acknowledging and receipting income in accordance with MCCC policies and procedures
· Undertaking administrative duties as required, including word processing, answering the telephone and taking messages. Maintaining a clean and comprehensive database as appropriate
