I/We agree to be bound by the rules and regulations of the Broome Speedway Club’s Demo Derby Competition. These are attached and will be explained fully to me/us before taking to the track on 15th October. A Drivers/Passengers briefing must be attended at 5:30pm before racing commences. I/We also understand that it is a condition of entry that all Drivers/Passengers must be insured on the night.

INSURANCE must be purchased on-line at The cost for a one night insurance is $35.00. This CANNOT be purchased through the club but if you do leave this to last minute you can purchase via your phone on the night.

A teleporter will be supplied by McCorry Brown Earthmoving to assist with removal of your vehicle onto your trailer Saturday night only. Once vehicle is on the trailer your bond will be refunded. If you do not collect your vehicle on the night you have until 1pm Sunday when the Speedway Club will remove the vehicle and no bond monies will be refunded. Your vehicle must be removed from the Broome Speedway Complex.

DEMOLITION DERBY RULES

TYPE OF VEHICLE: Any station wagon, sedan, panel van or utility. Please note however, no full chassis vehicles permitted.

BODY: All body panels must be for the type and model of vehicle being used. No relieving of guards or panels to allow greater wheel clearance including original bumpers only. Remove all glass, flammable material, all chrome strips, door handles, brackets interior and exterior, cast materials, eg: some grills, sharp objects, roo bars, complete removal of all tow bars including frame work.

Sign writing on vehicles permitted, with no foul language or drawings.

DOORS: To be fitted, chained or u-bolted closed. Welding not permitted.

BONNET AND BOOT: To be chained at two points on each.

BAR WORK: A bar must be fitted between the “B” pillars to stop seats collapsing on impact, bar must be welded and of a professional standard.

ENGINE: Any engine in any vehicle permitted. Modifications permitted. Solid engine mounts permitted. Cable accelerators permitted.

COOLING SYSTEM: Radiators must be operational and mounted in the original position. Radiators may be changed from the original type but must be the same size or larger than the original. Smaller radiators are not permitted. Radiator fans are optional. Extra radiators or extra capacity tanks are not permitted.

WHEELS AND TYRES: Drive tyres must be bald. All types and sizes permitted.

DIFFERENTIAL: Not restricted.

FUEL TANKS: Original tank not permitted (must be holed or split). Modified jerry cans and outboard motor fuel tanks recommended. Five or twenty litre drums not permitted. Fuel tanks will be secured into vehicle by steel strap, ratchet straps or similar. Wire and rope not permitted. All fuel tanks to have satisfactory breather, one way valve is preferred. Minimum requirements are a hose wrapped around the tank twice. Fuel is restricted to five litres only. NOTE: Fuel tanks must not be able to move in any direction once strapped.

BATTERY: To be covered by rubber or similar to prevent battery acid spillage. Battery may be moved from the original position but must be well secured in all instances. Plastic battery clamps not permitted. NOTE: Battery must not be able to move in any direction once strapped.

GEAR SHIFT: Type and means optional.

SEAT BELT: One lap and sash belt for each of the occupants of the vehicle. Limit of two people. Retractable belts not allowed (they can be cable tied so no forward movement of participant).

HELMETS: Must be in good condition and must be marked with AS 1698-1974 or better.

NECK RESTRAINT: Compulsary.

CLOTHING: Competitors must be dressed from head to toe – no exposed skin. No nylon or synthetic clothes permitted. Cotton drill overalls or better advised.

ALCOHOL: No intoxicating liquor to be consumed before the event. A breath test WILL be imposed on all drivers and passengers before the event start.

AGE: Competitors must be 16 and over. 16 – 18 years must have parent/guardian consent.

ONCE A VEHICLE HAS NOT MOVED FOR MORE THAN 2 MINUTES, ENGINE RUNNING OR NOT IT WILL BE DISQUALIFIED
