Working in conjunction with the Director, the role has unique deliverables specific to the running of projects and troubleshooting across functional education outcomes. As such can be diverse in its nature to include not only projects but will also be proactive in exploring business opportunities through the coordination of research and evaluation strategies to ensure opportunities undertaken are financially sound and sustainable. There is also an element where no funding is available the position seeks to find funding through trusts and grant applications. The role leads the application process for the Division, pulling together knowledge from across the Division to ensure the application is well structured and on time
- Detailed statement of duties
- Research and develop project briefs as directed by Director including costing’s to provide a clear pathway of work scope to meet client requirements
- Manage projects, to adhere to work scope and time and costing constraints of project
- Manage staff/project team assigned to project to complete project objectives to a successful outcome
- Collaborate, negotiate and co-ordinate with external clients to establish and meet their needs/requirements/deadlines
- Provide research and analysis to Director to enable sound overall business decision making processes for new business opportunities
- Manage the grant application process for the Directorate as well as at times for other divisions of the Institute.
- Provide efficient coordination of Division senior staff for reports and information flow to and from Director
- Any other activities and responsibilities as directed by Director
- Essential selection criteria
- Experience and well-developed knowledge of project management
- Research and critical analysis skills including the ability to undertake targeted research to support the Division, quickly synthesise relevant issues and come up with creative and practical solutions.
- Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills for diverse audiences and purposes, and the ability to do this under pressure and on short notice.
- Awareness of appropriate legislation and internal policy and protocols
- Sound exposure and knowledge of negotiation and facilitation techniques
- Knowledge of external funding sources, mechanisms for accessing and associated accountabilities
- Well-developed knowledge of computer applications and other database programs
- Well-developed knowledge of administrative and Division processes
- Ability to implement changed Division processes to the work unit and deal with change
- High level typing skills, writing reports and other correspondence; including a high standard of layout and presentation.
- Time management, the ability to take initiative, manage a complex set of responsibilities and tasks, and work effectively both alone and in a team.
- Desirables
- Qualifications in English as a Second Language or adult education qualifications.
- Holder of NT Driver's licence.
