Meeting Minutes

December 13, 2012

The AHS FFA Booster Club held a meeting on December 13th, 2012. The meeting was called to order at 6:40pm.

The minutes from the October 2ndmeeting were read. Amber Wheeler made a motion to approve the minutes as read. A second motion was made by Charles Schroeder. Motion was passed.

Amber Wheeler gave the Treasurer’s Report. The available balance is $11,745.53.

No Officer Report at this time.

John Shannon discussed the Rodeo Concessions. An AHS FFA Board Member is required to serve on the Rodeo Concessions Committee. Since Courtney R has withdrawn from AHS,Stefany R can no longer serve on the Rodeo Concessions Committee. John Shannon will take over the position on the Rodeo Concession Committee from the executive board.

A vacancy within the Executive Board has occurred. John Shannon motioned to discuss a replacement at the January meeting. A second was made by Charles Schroeder. Motion was passed.

John Shannon discussed the “buy in” for the Concessions Stands at the Humble Rodeo. To operate the Humble Rodeo Concession Stands, each school will need to contribute $2000.00 and payment must be made by December 21st.Charles Schroeder made the motion to contribute the $2,000.00, a second was made by Amber Wheeler. Motion was passed. Summer Creek FFA will have a sign up sheet posted on their web site to volunteer at the concession stands. Next Rodeo Concession meeting is January 10th, 6pm at KHS.

John Shannon discussedselling raffle tickets to win a guitar to be autographed at the Meet & Greet at the concert Friday night featuring The Josh Abbott Band and Dustin Lynch on February 8, 2013. It was agreed to sell raffle tickets $5 a piece or a book of 5 for $20.

A motion to print the tickets for $60 was made by Charles Schroeder. Second was made by Amber Wheeler. Motion was passed.

A motion to purchase a guitar at no more than $150 was made by Twee Cortez. A second was made by Charles Schroeder. Motion was passed.

Diana Quiroz gave a report on Humble Rodeo Program Sales. 62 Business Ads have been sold and 58 Student Ads have been sold. Insperity will be printing the program for the committee. Pre-orders for t-shirts will be accepted until December 21st.

Mrs. Hendrix spoke about the Joint meeting which is mandatory for every student exhibiting an animal. Meeting will be held January 15th, at AHS in the PAC. Officers are working to invite other officers from other schools. More info to come.

Progress show is January 12th at the Humble barn and is for Humble ISD show animals only.

Mrs. Armentor discussed Program Sales at the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo. Date is set for March 7th. We will be sharing a bus with Summer Creek. Chaperones are needed.

Amber motioned to adjourn the meeting. A second was made by Charles Schroeder.
