IBAC Standards Manager
The International Business Aviation Council (IBAC) and its Member Associations announce the intent to select an individual to fill the position of IBAC Standards Manager.
The Standards Manager is responsible for the day to day management of all aspects of the International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations (IS-BAO); he/she is responsible to the IBAC Director General for day to day activity, and as Secretary for the IS-BAO Standards Board, is responsible to the Standards Board Chairman.
The Standards Manager fills a contracted position with compensation based on a daily rate established between the contractor and the Director General. All expenses of the Standards Manger are paid by IBAC. The approximate number of working days per year is 200. There is no restriction on the location of residence and most tasks can be conducted from the location of choice of the incumbent, with a time to time requirement to be at IBAC headquarters in Montreal, Canada. A considerable amount of travel is involved.
Specific responsibilities and duties of the position are applicable to:
- Overall management of the IS-BAO Program
- Serving as Standards Board Secretary;
- Managing changes to the IS-BAO;
- Managing changes to related IS-BAO programs such as SMS Tools, eLearning and CEN liaison;
- Managing IS-BAO marketing and sales;
- Overseeing the IS-BAO audit program;
- Managing the IS-BAO Workshop program.

Qualifications and Attributes
Requirements and attributes of the candidates for the Standards Manager Position are as follows:
1.Excellent management and organizational skills.
2.Excellent written and oral communication skills.
3.Ability to apply initiative and to work independently of day-to-day supervision.
4.Very good presentation skills.
5.Record of reliable and consistent delivery of results.
6.Ability to establish and maintain excellent interpersonal relationships.
7.Good understanding of domestic and international aviation organization structures and interrelationships among various organizations, particularly those of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
8.Very good understanding of international, regional and national aviation rules typically applied to business aviation and a good understanding of other aviation rules applicable to the aviation industry as a whole.
9.Good understanding of industry standards such as ISO-9000 series standards.
10.Very good understanding of the IS-BAO standard.
11.Considerable experience in auditing
12.Considerable experience inrulemaking concepts.
13.Considerable experience managing in an aviation discipline.
14.Proficient in the English language, both written and spoken.
15.Proficient in computer skills and knowledge of common applications such as MS Word, Powerpoint and Excel.
