GENERAL INFORMATION FOR MEDIA
1. VENUE AND DATES OF THE MEETING
The Second Session of Like Minded Countries Meeting on the Protection of Genetic Resources, Traditional Knowledge and Folklore (the Meeting), organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, will be held in Bali, Indonesia from 27 June to 30 June 2011. The tentative draft program of the Meeting will be available at the media room.

2. ACCREDITATION AND MEDIA REGISTRATION
A. All media interested in covering the event must register by completing the online registration form available at www.kemlu.go.id
B. How to register:
1. Complete the Media Registration Form and attach soft copies of the following documents:
· Letter of assignment from the Editor/Executive of the media
· Digital Passport size color photograph (3x4 cm, 354 x 472 pixels with resolution 300 pixel/inch);
· Valid ID Card/Press Card 2011 and passport (valid at least 6 months upon entry into Indonesia;
2. Should the online registration be not accessible, other mean of registration is available by sending the completed form below and the required documents to Direktorat Informasi dan Media (Directorate of Information and Media Service), Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Jl. Taman Pejambon no. 6 Jakarta Pusat 11010 or email to .
3. An email notification together with a unique ID number will be sent to media applicants after all required documents have been completed and received by the Media Secretariat. Incomplete applications will not be processed.
4. Successful applicants are requested to bring along a copy of email notification with the unique ID number and to be presented to the LMCM Media Registration Desk at the venue to get ID pass.
3. VISA REQUIREMENT
Applicants who are not based in Indonesia are required to apply for a journalist visa at the nearest Indonesian Embassy/Representative Offices.
4. MEDIA POOL
For covering the Opening Ceremony and other ‘Open Session’ events, media personnel will be given access to enter the venues. However, in the case of limited space availability, a media pool may be applied. In this regards, special media passes will be issued and must be worn at all times together with ID pass. Others may observe or follow the events at the media center where CCTV is provided.
5. PRESS CONFERENCE
Information on press conference will be available at the Media Center.

6. MEDIA CENTER
A. The Media Center will be located at Padma Resort Bali and will be open starting on June 27, 2011 at 09.00 am.
B. The Media Center will provide computers with internet access and refreshment.
7. ACCOMMODATION AND TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS
Media representatives will be responsible for their own travel arrangements, reservation and payments of hotel/accommodation. It is advisible to arrange hotel reservation at the earliest convinience.

10. transportation
Media are responsible for their own airport transfer and local transport during their stay in Bali. Airport shuttle buses are usually available in certain hotels. Taxis and rental vehicles can be easily hired in Bali. Payment is commonly in cash.
11. Currency and exchange rates
The local currency is Rupiah (RP/IDR). The exchange rate is around Rp.8.400,00. Foreign currencies, either banknotes or travelers check, are easily exchanged at banks and money changers in major tourist destinations. Credit cards are accepted at most hotels and restaurants. It is advisable to carry sufficient amounts of Rupiahs when traveling to smaller towns or outer provinces.
12. ELECTRICITY
Electrical powers in Indonesia mostly use the 220-230 volts at 50 Hz and plugs are of the two-pronged variety.
