Every player in the Mainland Regional High School Lady Stangs Basketball Program must agree to live up to the following expectations. These are not rules, or lists of things that a player CAN NOT DO. Rather, this is a list of things all players must agree TO DO. Failure to meet these expectations will result in discipline to be decided by the coaching staff and/or the Athletics Director.
1. All members of the program must recognize that all of their actions represent not only themselves, but this program, the coaches, Mainland Regional High School, and most importantly, their families. This means that members of the program are to treat themselves and others with the level of respect due to all of these parties. All players must accept their responsibility to live up to this reality in their actions on and off the court, all the time, including personal conduct non-related to basketball and on-line interactions. **All members of the program will be role-models for fellow players and students**
2. All members of the program must be students first and athletes second. This means that above all else, every member on this program will be held to the highest level of academic standards. All members of the program must be present in school and in good academic/disciplinary standing to participate in team activities.
3. All members of the program must be present and on-time to all program activities. If a medical issue or illness arises, players must communicate with coaching staff/ trainer before the absence. Note that unexcused absence may result in loss of playing time, varsity letter, and post-season recognition eligibility.
4. All members of the program must accept the decision of the coaching staff on all issues pertaining to the program.
5. All members of the program must ride the team bus to and from all team activities.
6. All members of the program must be accountable for equipment related to the program.
7. All members of the program and parents must communicate any potential issues with coaching staff through appropriate means. While the coaching staff will be receptive to any and all concerns, immediately before and after games are not the times to deal with these issues.
NOTE: Extenuating circumstances may arise and decisions regarding this contract will ultimately be left up to the coaching staff and/or Athletics Director. By signing this agreement, players and parents agree to live up to the aforementioned expectations of the Mainland Regional High School Girls Basketball program and accept the disciplinary actions for violations thereof.
