Job Description: The IBM US Sales & Distribution team is searching for top-quality candidates to fill Client Sales roles. These exciting positions are entry level, customer facing, Sales positions. The IBM Client Rep drives the sale of Software, Hardware, and Services opportunities with our clients through the orchestration of hardware, software and services Sales Specialists, as well as other IBM resources.
The Client mix could be a General Business territory (a geographic territory of mid-sized customers, with a mix of varying industries) or a specific Industry Sector large account or accounts (e.g. Finance, Communications, Public Sector, Industrial, or Distribution).
A qualified candidate is a professional with a strong business acumen who thrives on leading Sales Initiatives and closing business deals; is able to build long term professional relationships; manage customer satisfaction; and possesses the technical ability to help develop business solutions.
The candidate should:
Be a 'self starter;'
Possess excellent people skills;
Be a team player;
Have a capacity to grasp technical details;
Acts with a sense of urgency;
Understand the critical importance of the Sales role to the continued success at IBM;
Demonstrate a strong passion for Sales;
Possess strong written and oral communication skills;

A potential candidate should have a strong academic background in subject areas that pertain to this position and work experiences with companies in which they have learned general business skills. Work experiences in customer Sales/service will be a plus. The start date for these openings will be in 2012. The highly-respected IBM Sales training program of approximately 6 months will build sales and product skills prior to the excitement of leading one's Sales Territory
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Experience should include:
- MBA or Technical advanced degree (preferred);
- Work experience via internship or via full-time position in the industry;
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal);
- Able to work in a team environment.
