A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE THE FORT MILL “YELLOW JACKETS” BASEBALL TEAM ON WINNING THE 2002 CLASS AAAA STATE BASEBALL CHAMPIONSHIP.

Whereas, the 2002 Fort Mill “Yellow Jackets” Baseball Team, led by Coach Greg Pendarvis, put together the right combination of skill, hard work, and determination to capture the Class AAAA State Championship; and

Whereas, the “Yellow Jackets”, victorious in the championship game against the Dutch Fork Silver Foxes 123, pounded out fifteen hits while holding their opponents to only four; and

Whereas, these talented athletes, along with their coaches, demonstrated the spirit of true champions through their dedication and perseverance to long hours of practice and their commitment to a solid team effort; and

Whereas, the 2002 Fort Mill “Yellow Jackets” Baseball Team is made up of: Joey Palubiak, Tony Iliano, Chris Adams, Bradley Blanks, Shane Dove, Jad Griffin, Zack Rupert, Jason Haynes, Sammy Pecarro, Josh Yates, Will Pietkiewicz, Travis Collier, David Glover, Brandon Williams, and Matt Oates; and

Whereas, under the exceptional leadership and guidance of Coach Pendarvis and his assistant coaches Darren Wilson and Dell Corley and with the strong support of the school administration, family, and friends, this team has brought great pride and recognition to their school and community; and

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly are pleased to have the opportunity to publicly recognize this group of outstanding young men. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the South Carolina General Assembly, by this resolution, congratulate the Fort Mill “Yellow Jackets” Baseball Team on winning the 2002 Class AAAA State Baseball Championship.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Coach Greg Pendarvis and the members of “Yellow Jackets” Baseball Team.
